the rumours are true
just read in one of our local rags that stanley are in negotations with punch about leasing or buying the crown pub so thats one rumour that is true

This is an excellent move by the club - the story IS CONFIRMED in the Observer and they are looking to either buy it outright or to lease it from Punch Taverns. It would be VERY, VERY good news if it was to be run exclusively for Stanley Coffers as this would enable them to not have to build a bar at the Clayton End (external of the ground) as they planned to do. If this deal happens quick enough they may be able to get the clubhouse converted to hospitality before the start of the new season. Rob has just been on 2BR stating that the clubhouse is being done up over the summer - this would be wasted money if they were then gonna rip it out to convert it.
WELL DONE ERIC AND ROB. Any chance of re-naming it Stanleys' or have Fraser Eagle collared the name? The Fraser Eagle! has a ring to it dontcha fink?
