The Squad so far (23/06/08)

The first team as of today's date is:

Kenny Arthur
Ian Dunbavin
Peter Cavanagh
Leam Richardson
Robbie Williams
Phil Edwards
Colin Murdoch
Jay Bell
Peter Murphy
Ian Craney
Bobby Grant
Andrew Procter
Chris Turner
John Miles (wheyhey)
Paul Mullin
Andy Smith

That's 16 players. Chris King hasn't signed so hasn't been included.

This leaves our strongest line-up as follows:

GK: Arthur

RB: Cavanagh
CB: Murdoch
CB: Edwards
LB: Richardson

DM: Robbie Williams

RM: Miles
CM: Craney
CM: Procter
LM: Grant

ST: Mullin

From that, I see that we desperately need to sign Barry or another defensive midfield player, a first choice right winger and two strikers.

Doesn't look promising really, does it?

I see Paul Carden has joined Cambridge as Player/Coach and we get an undisclosed fee!!

as regards Phil Edwards, is he not on a 2 year contract?

I gather from Today's Times that Rham and Brnmouth will start with 15 pt handicaps each and Lton 25 so don't despair yet.

I think coleys already stated he is going for the 'loan half a team' season. So well just have to wait for a month or so.

I know this applies to another thread, but all the above won't matter diddly squat unless we build or factor in another 800 seats and keep the capacity above 5,000.

Krasner is now speaking ...the transcript is on the asc
Bournemouth Website....here's an interesting bit from it...
I am now speaking personally in my own capacity as to what I believe will happen. I believe that subject to the sixteen point being accepted by the Football League that Bournemouth will start next season with a fifteen point penalty. There will be a number of conditions attached to that in respect of matters the new company will have to deal with.

Take a peek...it makes interesting reading !!

He may not have signed a new deal, but to my knowledge he is still under contract with Stanley.

he is out of contract this month. He has been offered a new contract but has yet to sign it. Could possibly be the same with one or two others as only Kenny Arthur ahs so far accepted any offers - Or so I understand

Re: The Squad so far (23/06/08)

Are you guys still interested in Darran Kempson? At the end of last season, he walked across to the stand and pulled his finger across his throat, as if he thought he was on the move.

Re: The Squad so far (23/06/08)

isn't it the 1st of july when most players contracts run out,im sure we'l get a better idear in the following days who is signing and who ant,i hope with the fee recieved from cam/utd for PC we may be in a position to tempt Darran Kempson to join us if the shrews except a small fee

Re: The Squad so far (23/06/08)

the Shrews have just bought Grant Holt for £170k so might want every penny! On the plus side they have also secured Michael Jackson from Blackpool (Scunthorpe and Oldham wanted him as well) so Kemps may be a little further down the pecking order again. They may just be willing to clear a wage of their books.

Shrews are beginning to look like they mean business this year so defender who wasn't flavour of the month in a bad team could still be available. Probably means there is a lot riding on whether Phil Edwards signs his new contract or not.
