Re: Thoughts on a new captain
I would like to offer the name of Bryan Hughes, reward him with an 18 month contract and offer him the captaincy with Sean hessey as vice captain

Re: Thoughts on a new captain
Coley will know which player commands the respect of the dressing room - in my ignorance of only half dozen southern away games per season, I would lean towards Outbacks opinion, provided a couple of years regular appearances is a realistic scenario. Whoever gets the job gets my vote of confidence and best wishes (bringing back sunbeds may be another option ).

Re: Thoughts on a new captain
For me I always think a ball winning midfielder is always a natural for captaincy roles and to those ends I would go for Luke Joyce to fill the void.

Re: Thoughts on a new captain
Ian Craney is vice-captain, so I think it would only right for him to become our new leader on the pitch. He influences games and is a great character within the squad, not to mention his history with the club. I can't think of anyone else who would be more suitable.
Dean Winnard or Luke Joyce for vice.

12 months? Really? Unless you were on Mars from last January through to May, you would have seen Craney come into the squad and catalyse our push for the play-offs with countless influential appearances and some fantastic goals. Sure, he struggled for form as this season began and just as his match fitness was improving suffered a freak injury taking him out of action for a while. But the facts remain: Craney was vice-captain to Procter, has a long history with this club and is always mentioned by players as an important character in the dressing room. That's not even mentioning the effort he's put in to getting back into the team from his injury. The guy has determination and a will-to-win that is unrivaled in this squad, in my opinion. I can't believe people are thinking of anyone else for captain, personally, but I guess that's football.

Re: Thoughts on a new captain
Craney, its simple to me,whilst i take the point about match fitness, if he scores 2 crackers, like against Oldham last week, that'll do fer me, end of the day were a small club (Non-League) in wi the big boys, 11x 100%ers aint good enough, yeh need summat extra to advance n craneys got that. imho.
