... and therein lies the problem for Stanley. In the Unibond prem days (1st time around) we had good gates for the league. When we got relegated we lost a few - then bounced straight back up (gaining a few new fans along the way) then we had two years of mediocrity which lost us more fans than we gained the follwing year when we won the league. Again in the Conference, we spent two years being mostly crap, mid table which didn't get us anywhere. Then one good year and up we go to be followed by two years of crap (quickly becoming a third) This is by no means a fault of anybody that we have won the leagues we have but the people of Accrington have not had chance to get used to a winning team.
As soon as we get a decent side we win th eleague and move upwards to spend another two years losing.
Its not been anything along the likes of Morecambe spending 10 years being 'good' in the Conference which allowed them build everything including the fanbase.

Re: Today v Rochdale
Not neccessarily on about winning titles just winning home matches, really giving a good home support something decent to watch for their coffers, we have blown many a good gate because the performances were terrible.

Re: Today v Rochdale
Taken from rochdale forum[QUOTE] Generally fairly good entertainment, their goal was the best i've seen this season, Sammy looked like someone had nailed his feet to the floor. I thought we were going to get mullered at that point, thank god they didn't take all their chances. Once we equalised we were the better side although they could have still scored more.
Code:
The only problem with how they play is that it's a one trick circus, big hoof up the middle and a flick on.
Once we got to grips with that it was over for them. Gary Jones had a rare poor game in the middle, can't fault his workrate but his touch left him for the most part. Will Buckley is getting better and better, he was man of the match for me. Good to see Daggers making some good runs but just needs to get his confidence back and he'll be scoring like he used to. Anyway off to celebrate now. Up the Dale!!!Report: Accrington 1 Dale 3

Re: Today v Rochdale
Rochdale were very fortunate to have been awarded that penalty. It was a definite foul, but having seen the video it looks like it was a free kick. The tackle is outside the box. Download the highlights that Redash provided and pause on 7 seconds. There's no point to it obviously. This is what a Stanley fan is reduced to while living in Aberdeen.

Sorry, but the actual initial point of contact by King's left leg really does appear to be just outside the box, although the player's "fall" took him into the box and King's body was mainly inside the box. Just as my mate and I thought at the time but agreed we would have to wait for the vid. The linesman should have flagged for a foul, not a penalty.

Re: Today v Rochdale
ok no problem, as fer PMs over the line or not, no idea was on claytonend, penalty or not question is,why did they resort to just hoofing the ball upfield after the equaliser? stanley were the better side by far in the first half.IMHO. thats not about talent, or how good a player is, its about Mindset. pure n simple.

Re: Today v Rochdale
Main stand holds 1200 Macca thats why they only need 800 more covered seats to conform to F.A. rules.
A long standing Accy fan Said to me. Who ever counted the gate I would'nt like him to measure my room for carpets. Enough said

Re: Today v Rochdale
thier has been a long standing debate into the gates and that it looks miles more than what they announce bt if you remember, one of the club officals coming on here to say that you could go and have a look at how the gates or counted and that all the gates are connected to a clicker in the box! so i think that what was annouce was right at the weekend thier looked more people on becuase it is wide and open stand am sure a club offical will be on here again soon if it all continues

Re: Today v Rochdale
We don't have to comply to ANY FA rules to play in the FOOTBALL LEAGUE!!
We have to comply with their (Football Leagure rules) and have a safety certificate as issues by the relevant issuing body; in our case Lancashire County Council.
I also heard somebody on Radio Lancs last night moaning about the FA and fixtures, because Burnley had 3 home games on the bounce. The FA only organise the FA Cup!!, the Football league do their fixtures!!
We need 2000 seats in place by the 1st of May 2009.
