Re: Today's Game

We had all the first half & comfortably controlled the game with Daggers obviously coming for a draw. When we scored Daggers game plan was gone & they could attack more. However, on another day we'd have won by more than the odd goal as we were head & shoulders better then them. In the end because it was only 1-0, Daggers could easily have got a draw because they had chances.

If we'd played that games 10 times however, 8 we would have won, 1 we would have drawn & 1 we would have lost

Today? It'll do for me!

Re: Today's Game

Cant remember the first half much, don't know why.. but thought we played a lot a better in the 2nd half, missing quite a few chances. Like somebody said, 3 points in the bag. I dont really think they were dangerous until those final few "extra" minutes. I thought that the save was excellent at the end. I think there were 2... They did not deserve a point. Mangan made an impact when he came on. Looked very dangerous..Well Done Lads

I thought we coped well with a more than decent side who were stubborn in defeat and came alive after we scored. Rocky played a blinder in his anchorman role and Andy Tretton once again proves why he is one of if not THE best centre half in the league - settling extremely quickly into an established side - a true professional.
7 more wins....just 7 more wins guys
Good comments, Shaker, Rocky played best game I have seen him, Tretts also superb#

Re: Today's Game

This was 3 hard earned points won by effort all round and by a few good saves. Good to see a decent sized crowd on such a cold, dismal day.

Re: Today's Game

Nobody has mentioned the effort put in by Andy Todd, who I thought had another superb game today, some good shots (just wide or saved) some telling passes, looks a very useful addition to the squad. Rocky had a blinder and Trett's was solid, though I thought Phil Edwards was caught out in defence a couple of times but coming forward was superb. For me, Gary Roberts had an off day, but overall, the team played superbly and 100% better that both the Worksop games put together. Yes Rob Elliott did make some blinding saves in the second half to keep the score to 1-0 and in my opinion deserves the M-O-M award. Decent crowd too of 2,156 - lets hope the good folk of Accy and neighbouring parts keep this up.And yes there may be light at the end of the promotion tunnel, but it is still a distant speck that is looming ever larger.

Re: Today's Game

The Hereford game looms large and that in my opinon (yee of little faith) is a make or break game for us. Anybody going to the game from the Yorkshire area????? If so can you please let me know as I am exiled over there for the Friday night!

Re: Today's Game

Andy Todd impressed me every game but was even better today. he runs at defences and frightens them to death... Would like to see him start every game... Strange to see them suddenly swap wings.. him and Roberts.. Works either way for em

Re: Today's Game

Totally agree with you regarding Andy Todd, he isn’t afraid of getting stuck in and I have little doubt that he will add to the tally before long. He’s an impressive chap and compliments the team.

Re: Today's Game

Todd was great getting himself into some open spaces and once the other players and himself get used to each others style of players I think other teams will start targeting him like they were with gary roberts today. He was so heavily man marked I think he did struggle slightly. When all said and done its another 3 pts in the bag.

11 pts clear, top of the league.... are we having a laff????

Re: Today's Game

We got three points because we won, and were the better team.

I think we played better than we've played for ages, though the first part of the second half we did seem to loose momentum.

Robbie Elliot was magnificant.

The dream lives on, and shines more brightly.

Re: Today's Game

Well done lads, we were the better team!
I woried about Todd to start off with he kept wandering offside, but when he started to play footy he was brill. the ability to swap sides like that has totaly confused the opposition.
Our defensive game still leaves a lot ot be desired, it seems to consist soley of standing in the goal area, kicking the ball as high into the air as possible and hoping for the best.

Yep well played lads again!

But dont agree with the swapping of the roberts and todd cause roberts isnt half the player on the right as he is on the left! Might let todd have a bit of freedom, it worked today because roberts was having an off day which in fact seem to be becoming more frequent (hope hes saving it for sky again) But when roberts is on the top of his game it will be useless as it will take him out of the game

I wouldn't say so much that he was having an off day, more that he was being heavily marked by more than one player!
