Poor result & if you look back at the result & performance then it'd be easy to say "wish I ain't gone!"
However, there were lots of good things about last night, firstly it was worth the admission money to see Robbie Elliott's blinding save in the second half. Ball blasted at him from close range, he acrobatically jumped & not only saved it but kept hold of it!!!
As a night out, it would be easy again to moan about the small element of Worksop fans who wanted it to "kick off" during extra time, a few swear words that we didn't rise to. However, the amount of kids there was staggering, there must have been 60 or 70 seriously. Smiffy hit by a piece of wood thrown from over the fence
All there just to "mess about" & most let in at half time for free. Three cans thrown at Robbie in the second half by the kids & if you look at WTFC's message board some fans reckon they added to the atmosphere.....? Mmmmm
Players who had good games, probably Robbie, Danny Ventre, Mullin
Everyone else was awful, slower then normal, pretentious in the way they appraoch the games, full of tricks & flicks but not full of blood & thunder which I believe is what you need for a cup tie
Ian Craney's dance before the penalty summed up the "cocky" attitude that cost us the win
Worksop have some good players mind including the ginger lad up front (Saunders) & Tony Crane (Number 10)....
Atmosphere was awful, although 773 people ain't what we are used to theses days. Accy fans didn't sing throughout the game but gave more than the home team! At least 50 renditions of "We'll drink, a drink, a drink, to Coley the King, the King....." in the second half.
Cold, wet, a long way from home with Town fans celebrating; Still it felt "Good to be from Acc"
Forza Stanley Ultras!
