The report on the Vics site is quite fair, although I thought the first and third goals came from Roberts' crosses. The last was from a Roberts' corner after Phil Senior (remember him?) just tipped an Ian Craney shot over the bar. There was some nifty footwork from David Brown before he turned and slotted it past Senior. An enjoyable evening.
Stanley: Dunbavin (Donlon 84), Cav, Richardson, Welch, N'Da, Roberts, Craney (Procter 62), Howell (Platt 62), Docherty (Harris 71), Rommy, Brown. It's pleasing to see 'All in all, Stanley looked easily the strongest opposition that Vics have played Pre-season, they should be a credit to the second division' towards the end of Northwich's report. It was their first pre-season defeat; teams they've played include Crewe and Chester, although Chester possibly fielded a number of youngsters and Crewe gave a game to all 26 of their first-team squad.
