yes but we have all those home games against Forest Green , Alty , Southport and Kiddy still to come.
Really could have been 6 or 7 against Grays today.
They had a guy playing (no.22) at the back who was the most appalling defender I have seen in the Conference.
Their manager shook every one of the Shrimps players hands when the game finished. nice sportsmanship.
Congratulations on your result.
Do not count the Shrimps out.

Re: top and clear
Good to see that Morecambe took advantage of Grays while they're on the bad run that we started them off on, did us a favour and ta for that. However lets not get carried away in thanking Morfecambe - our lads played brilliant as a team today and fully deserve to be 4 yes 4 points clear at the top of the league.

Re: top and clear
What is it with the fickle folk of Accrington, Burnley away in Sheffield and Rovers at home yet only 1336 come to watch a top of the table team vying for promotion to the football league. Yes, I know people can't come every game (I was working today), but I would expect more to turn up - BTW what amount of that figure was away support, no more than 100 I expect which means Accy have lost about 150 to 200 home supporters, Where are they?

Re: top and clear
Kidderminster didn't have many. I doubt there was 100 to be honest. I've said it before, but Stanley is not a well supported club and it never has been.
Perhaps if we were renamed 'The Pound Shop' we'd attract more Accrington folks?
BTW... I'd have had the report online by now, the the site hasn't been updated.

Re: top and clear
While we're waiting to read TM's report, Kiddy already have one up at http://www.harriers.premiumtv.co.uk/...~31447,00.html. I heard the second half on the web on BBC local radio and their reporters were full of praise for the way Stanley played today.
Congratulations to Coley, Eric and the team on achieving Christmas Number One!
I see the betting on Accy has gone from 9/2 to 12/5 in the last week but I'm surprised to see Grays still out in front at 15/8. I wonder how that will change after today's defeat at Morecambe. And I hate to say it but Morecambe at 8/1 seems a decent price at the moment.
PS I bought a Tin Monkey on holiday in France. Pull the string and up it climbs!

Re: top and clear
Greys odds shouldnt change that much. If it had been Feb or March with this situation then yes they would. With luck Stanley will have doubled the points lead by then and no-one is comming close to stopping them.

Re: top and clear
Grays deserve to go up because they are thoroughly decent fans down there, but I would like to see Morecambe and Stanley go up if only for another local game. Stockport, Macclesfield, Bury, Chester, Rochdale, Blackpool down from League 1 and Morecambe and Accrington from the conference. Not that anybody is counting chickens before they have hatched or anything.............
long way to go yet......
early days yet.......
some tough games to come yet........
arse, come on Stanley lets 'ave it

Re: top and clear
4 points clear at Xmas is as much as we could have hoped for. Play Offs seem a definate which will help with the crowds situation as there will be a big game at the end of season.
Thank you Morecambe & I for one hope they go up as well (or Grays)
Everyone in this League is on catch up & its very hard. Chester City did it & Barnet did it, everyone thought & hoped the bubble would burst & they both just kept winning. Chester especially never set the world on fire but won the league comfortably while everyone said they weren't that good. 22 games to go gotta get at least 12 wins & a smattering of draws & 85ish points may do it seeeing as teams at the top keep beating each other. We still have Cambridge, Daggers, Scarb & Tamworth at home & Southport, Canvey, Tamworth, Forest Green & Kiddy away which on paper are easily winnable. That means a win & some draws against some of the top teams should give us a good chance....
Player wise I don't see a weak link although we are relying on Gary Roberts more & more. Yesterday at one point he had 4 markers & when it was eventually switched to the right Edwards had a whole pitch to run into. Variety should be encouraged to prevent teams stifling our attacking play. Would like to see Gary switched at that point, or Boco played on the right as the game gets stretched. Unfortunately, as good as Jaggers has been this year, he ain't the fastest or the fittest.
Also Coley can bring a player in in January & the chance to sign a player should give everyone a lift for the final push....
Its up to us, players & fans "Lets Ave It!"

Re: top and clear
Great analysis, Mr Millar!
I especially like your suggestion of playing Boco wide on the right - an exciting prospect. However with the quality of players we now have Coley has given us a number of great tactical options .

Boco is good and when his fantastic shots start to hit the back of the net, Then we will be champions.

Re: top and clear
I think the next seven games are winnable although we have to go to Halfiax and they have to come here, but we can beat them as we showed last year at the shay and even though we didn't beat them at home we have the capability to beat anyone at the IES..I know it is a lot to ask for but it is possible. We can't be too reliant on Gary although he does seem to be performing week in week out but variation could be good switching boco jaggers and roberts down different flanks/ positions during a game if they aren't getting luck...If we keep on winning then attendances should hopefully increase steadily, let's really hope this is our year...
