Re: Torquay utd match thread

I am of the opinion that a backline is only as good as its keeper. If the backline has no confidence in its keeper silly goals will always be conceeded. Bavs may be a good shot stopper, however it is quite evident his backline has no confidence in him. We will keep on conceeding silly goals.

Re: Torquay utd match thread

His lack of command of his area and player's reluctance to back pass when under pressure.

Redder, don't know if you were at the Torquay match, but I saw quite a number of backpasses to Bav's some of which were a bit dodgy due to the proximity of Torquay players, yet he dealt with every one commendably. Sorry mate, you must be watching the wrong team.

Re: Torquay utd match thread

Not talking about one game Ozzy. I am nervous about our next few games. If we don't notch up a few wins, all the good work the team has achieved to date will be wasted. For me, a play off place is a must. Not sure Bavs is the right one to get us to the play offs.
We won't have to wait too long to find out.

Re: Torquay utd match thread

Theres never been any doubting Bav's shot stopping ability, and I must agree his kicking has improved alot, however its the Decision making, which has always been Bavs achilles heel.

Time to come down to planet earth, methinks. Why is a play off place a must?? We are already fighting above our weight. A top-half finish would be a fantastic achievement. To my mind, the only virtue of a play off position would be the income from a possible Wembley appearance. The club's infrastructure is hardly ready for League 1 yet.

What do you mean by saying you are not sure if Bavs is the right one to get us to the play offs? Can I suggest that at least 10 other players could have a hand in getting us to the play offs if that's where we are to be.

As OO says, the Torquay match gave ample evidence that the back four are quite happy with Bavs.

You talk about notching up a few wins. To do that, we need to score goals - and we have scored 4 in the last 5 games. Are you going blame Bavs for that too?

Re: Torquay utd match thread

i am not n never have been Bavs biggest fan, but its a bit much to blame him fer recent results, he has certainly been improved since regaining his place, n can only be gratefull he has. Do i think he's the answer -NO, fer my money its just n easy target at the moment.
