Re: Tranmere Game
It is great that we can rest players like Proc and Macca, also not have to risk injured ones like Hessey and Barnett and still come out as winners!!!! JCFG!!!

Re: Tranmere Game
Good game, deserved to draw and won on penalties. The only complaint I have is about the tranmere chav who tried to snap my flag after the game

Re: Tranmere Game
Well that really was duff game. The first half felt like neither team really gave a stuff about the match.
It brightened up a bit once Stanley Scored. Tranmere had to put a bit of effort in and the match livened up. Sloppy equaliser to give away. Centre half (I thought it was Smyth but apparently not) let the ball bounce in the area and Showamni (sp) ran round the back to thump it in.
Great response from Stanley though and 5 superb pens. Brilliant support once again in the stand, outsung and outwitted the Rovers fans behind the goal.

Re: Tranmere Game
very interested in who we are likely to get in the next round in our charge to the final. this season 3 teams from 'above' us 2 dispatched and the third (prem) hardly disgraced against so far this season ..........looking very good and also like our re-named assistant Bobby Bell. Would go down well as a compere on the 'golden mile'

Re: Tranmere Game
well to be honest I wasn't really up for this game but given the circumstances it was the only place i wanted to be.
the game itself wasn't much to write home about. I think that Stanley played by far the better football particularly in the first half, but once Putterill had gone off we just seemed to hit it long every time.
First half, within minutes Murphy had split the defence wide open with an incisive pass, unfortunately it was a back pass and it was our defence that was split wide open. After that I thought he was immense! By far and away our best player in the 1st half.
2nd half Putterill stole the show. Everything he did, tried to do, or accidentally did seemed to pay off.
It was by no means a good performance, it was by no means a good game. And I mean this from the bottom of my heart, I was dreading extra time! And then once the 90 minute whistle had blown I learnt that it was straight to penalties! yee hah - let the good times roll!
The guy who missed the penalty for them was Fola Onibujes bigger brother, a giant! And it is still rising now. The big lummox
I can't remember the order but I think Murphy went 3rd and duly dispatched - he then ran across the Tranmere fans blowing kisses! Love ya Murf!
Edwards scored his and stared the Tranmere faithfull down with his finger on his lips! Love it!
I hated the game, I hated the empty seats everywhere, I couldn't be arsed singing with the SU, I hated the silent Tranmere in the 1st half and the laughable attempts at singing in the 2nd half. But the penalties more than made up for it, and I now go home with a happy (ier) heart.
Roll on the next round, lets hope for a home draw against somebody crap and see if we can manage another half decent run in a meaningless trophy - but one that offers a big day out and some televised games.
For me, tonight was for Coxy. There seemed a little more meaning tonight when the players came right over to the fans at the end, and seemed to applaud us for a little longer than usual.

Re: Tranmere Game
Well said Rob, Brilliant.
As for the game, bit of a non event (for the 1st 45 mins anyway).
A decent night out apart from a bloody parking ticket, the swines.
As for my opinion on the players..........
Cisak, Looked professional and great to see him pushing Bav's. 7
Bateson, Limped off early on, Fingers crossed hes back for Wycombe. 5
Edwards, Solid again, fingers crossed he aint knackered after another 90 mins. 7
Owens. Great full Debut looked solid and no question he has got ability. 8
Winnard. Good game but fingers crossed again for no burnout. 7
Murphy. All over the place at the start but decent game in the holding role. 7
Ryan. Industrious as ever, never stops. 7
Joyce. Well off the pace in the 1st 45 mins but had a decent 2nd half. 7
Putterill. Great goal and becoming a fans favourite already. 8
Parkinson. Busy but not alot of end product. 6
Boulding. Looked out of sorts to me, not easy playing on his own up top though. 6
Subs
Smyth. Decent debut at Right Back then Center Half. 7
Turner. Couple of good runs and balls in, Should have started really. 7
Richardson. Good to see him back, though on left wing, not sure about that.... 6
Bring on Wycombe
RIP Coxy
