Tribute from Hyde Manager

Tigers boss hails signing of Morley - Football - Sport - Tameside Advertiser

"It’s a massive signing for the club and it shows how far the club has come in the last five years. When I first came here, it was in trouble but the potential was there and that’s why I came – the club’s on the way up and hopefully we can go all the way."
Central to that way of thinking is the example of Accrington Stanley who are in the Football League five years after playing the Tigers.
Waywell claims they are a good model for all ambitious clubs in Blue Square Premier and Blue Square North who have designs on going further up the football pyramid.
He said: "What they’ve done gives everyone hope, it’s a kind of target for clubs in our division. I’ll be honest, I never thought five years ago that Accrington Stanley would be in the Football League but they’ve given ambition to every club.
"They’ve done tremendously well to stay in there and it gives everyone something to aim for. No-one’s guaranteed automatic promotion but signing players like David Morley always gives you a better chance."
