Re: V Radcliffe boro/Stalybridge

Oh dearie me - Coley cancelled their day off for drawing with Skem, they're not gonna have another day off all season for this! - still the other half of the first team did ok this morning with Sean Mac netting twice in the 4 - 1 win at Radcliffe so not all bad news

That doesn't exactly reassure me - as it suggests that after two weeks training including a trip abroad we're still not as fit as a team of part-timers?

Or were we just doing grid sprints and ignoring the ball completely?

Re: V Radcliffe boro/Stalybridge

The lower league teams always play a more direct game, indeed their number9 was an handful in the air,but took all the throw ins as he launched them in the danger zone and the centre backs went up every time.
It's difficult to defend against, but with a bit more fitness we would have ripped them to pieces

Re: V Radcliffe boro/Stalybridge

The right winger who scored looked like the best player on the pitch, may have had more if it wasn't for the iffy offside. The key moment was when the clear penalty was called offside at 2-1 and the keeper played all round a 40 yard cross shot free kick for 3-1 just after.

Stalybridge look like a good well run club with a ground far superior to Stanley's, about 150 on today, good food and beer at reasonable prices.

Re: V Radcliffe boro/Stalybridge

I remember going to Stalybridge years ago, it was some piddling cup match & Chris (psycho) Butler missed the decisive penalty kick - was an impressive ground then, would've like to revisited today but didn't work out - hope to be at Halifax next week, again for the first time in quite a few years
