Very disappointed with your Stewards.
I thought our two lads who were thrown out today were very unlucky. When we scored and the scorer came over to the fans, the gate burst open and the guys at the front were pushed through and finished up on the ground. I thought the Stewards were coming over to make sure they were O.K., but no, they had to be punished by being thrown out. Pretty pathetic to be honest. I know the one guy by sight, hardly a trouble-maker. He goes to every away game. Didn't spoil the game too much for me, just thought it was uncalled for. As we've played you twice, good luck for the rest of the season. As an outsider, I think you'd be mad to get rid of Coleman, the guy seems to be a brilliant Manager at our level. Regards, John.

Re: Very disappointed with your Stewards.
you should blame the referee for your lads getting binned!
if he was on his game he would have booked your first scorer for 'incitement' or whatever it is and then the second incident wouldn't have happened. Rules is rules and they were on the pitch! hard luck though.

He WAS booked. As was the scorer of the second. Our Manager, Gary Peters was full full of praise for your guy, Mullin. This is what he said on our website.
" I think the difference between the two sides in the first half was Paul Mullin, he murdered us and got them the lead. Luke Jones wasn't dealing with him, so I had to bring Darran Kempson on, who did a better job, but Paul Mullin still bossed the game and was the one person you couldn't stop looking at".

Re: Very disappointed with your Stewards.
he's a known admirer of Mullin isn't he?
I think we are expecting a phone call on New Years Day.

Re: Very disappointed with your Stewards.
The treatment given to your lads after falling over/through the gate was mentioned at the time. I think the stewards had been on a recent training programme at fieldmill. Joking apart though it did seem an over reaction as the fans where also thrown out in the usual "by the scruff of the neck" manuvre.

Re: Very disappointed with your Stewards.
EVERYONE admires Mullin a great footballer who could have played two levels up and done well a couple of years ago.

Re: Very disappointed with your Stewards.
As a steward who assisted on Saturday, can I say in our defence:
1. The problem lay with the Shrewsbury players and fans. e.g. it has been said that a player opened the gate during practice earlier in the afternoon to retrieve a ball and never locked the gate. Secondly the fans are supposed to stay behind the crush barriers - that is why they are there. If you come passed them and end up on the pitch, you are going one way only - OUT
2. The stewards in question did not randomly pick up the 2 guys on the pitch side, they were told to!
3. Before complaining about stewards - read the ground regulations - every ground has them.

Right then. Stewards are also in charge of safety. I've just watched the incident on virgin media and the gate is clearly unlocked. Health and safety is also the remit of the Stewards. It's not the players or supporters job. The Stewards failed in their duty and our lads paid the price. But don't worry, I've been told the two managed to get back in!

Re: Very disappointed with your Stewards.
After watching the highlights of the game, i must agree that it was more than harsh that your lads were thrown out, as it didn`t look like they intentionally ended up on the pitch, i know rules are rules but sometimes a little common sense can go a long way to.

Re: Very disappointed with your Stewards.
Sorry to hear that the crowd surge appears to have resulted in your lads getting ejected.
I hope the experience puts no one off coming next season.

I'm sure it won't. But if we can get Mullin in January, we might be in another league. Actually, we've heard our striker target is Walker from Bristol Rovers. I've heard the Stewards had a change of heart and let the ejected supporters back in.

Re: Very disappointed with your Stewards.
Shrewsbury had the worst stewards I have seen this season.
They where little hitlers.
You got what you deserve.

Thanks for that, how did you know I have Welsh relatives? I've been insulted by professionals, so you don't bother me. Not sure why we got what we deserved. Do you mean three points? I agree our Stewards leave a lot to be desired, we have our own issues with them. At our old ground, they were a super bunch, very friendly, and some of the ones we have now...well, they're not.

Re: Very disappointed with your Stewards.
Well dont get what u are moaning about then if our stewards let them back in, maybe a little control of your over zealous players & fans would of avoided it.
