Re: vs Oldham
That was a bloody crying shame, the lads played really well & deserved to win. Two seasons ago we were cheated out of this cup by Oldham, only it was at their ground - tonight we were cheated again, their second goal should never have been allowed as their player blatantly handled it on his path to goal (a la Maradonna) then we had a stonewall penalty, which the liner awarded only for the ref to overule him - how the hell he could do that when he couldn't possibly have seen the incident I don't know, he never even went over to discuss it with the liner!
Having said all that, if we can play like this on Saturday & get three points against the fishermen I'll be happy - well done lads, you were robbed!

Oggy, it's a matter of little men and power. I'm sure you will have seen it in the past. Shame really, had Karen been right about the w' sorry, ref across both halfs we would have been in. But I still think we should have played Arthur. Still Saturday is another day. Lets be positive, let hope.

We can recover on move on. D'Sane and Mully with the lads behind them will overcome.
I think Branch and Mac Stamper might have done us a favour.....

give whalley time and i think he'll improve. browny has got to stay in the starting 11 after tonights performance. a midfield revelation and with an eye for goal (remember wrexham away?) but biggest thing to take from tonight is that we WOULD NOT HAVE CONCEDED 3 GOALS if kenny was between t'posts

Poison in small bottles as my mum used to say. This is him sending Mangan off.
Not very big, is he?

Re: vs Oldham
David Brown MUST start on Saturday.
Same with Roscoe DSane.
Two players who will fight for their place in the team, not just expect it.
Very impressed with them both.
Well done lads, better luck next time.

Sorry AccyMad I have to take issue here. Stanley were brilliant in the first half but somehow managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory in the second. OK their second goal may have been handball, but at the end of the day - we should not have been in that position. As the Oldham fans were singing 2-0 and we ****** it up. Yes we should have had at least one if not two penalties in the second half, but as I have said before we should not have been in that position. Some of the blatant fouls by Oldham that were being overlooked by the official(s) were amazing and how at least one if not two Oldham players stayed on the pitch I do not know. The penalty incident in the first half, he was last defender and skinned by Roscoe, he should have walked and when Mullers got booked I could not believe it, it was clearly a foul against him. So Grimsby on Saturday, I am beginning to think their is a conspiracy by the FA or FL against Accy to try and get them out of the league!

Must agree, Dsane really offers something else and should dovetail with Mullin, Brown is class.

Against a full strength Oldham side, I'm not too bothered that we were caught out by them a few times.
It was in the tactics applied in the second half where I thought we were poor though. Oldham went to 3 up front and we did nothing to counter this, conceding three goals was therefore inevitable.
Can't complain at any of the players' individual performances particularly, except for Whalley who was poor again. Not impressed at all by him.

Re: vs Oldham
just got back to liverpool.
Lots of positives for me - but one constant BIG NEGATIVE everyone is over looking.
* d'sane is a breathe of fresh air - someone passionate.
* David brown offered alot more than jay harris has.
* Rocky was a bit more composed
* stanley looked like scoring going forward
and the Negative
*john miles.
Im sorry, but the guy has done NOTHING in a stanley shirt yet.
His work rate again tonight was non existent infact I will go as far as saying he is LAZY.
4 times in the 2nd half, edwards would pick the ball up - look up - and Miles would be trundling along not making any runs, not offering a pass, plain useless for a winger.
And tracking back, he constantly left his man, he was like a statue.
I think Miles is a far bigger problem than McEvilly.
Dont forget - the macclesfield fans couldnt wait to see him go.
Miles must be dropped for saturday - give whalley another chance.
My only fear for saturday is Mullins will be tired, he work non stop tonight.
I didnt think proctor did much second half.
Referee was poor - its been stated eariler about his mistakes.
Sooner or later we will get a fair ref.

Re: vs Oldham
DAV007 do't know why you think Rocky was composed, he got caught with the ball more times than I have hot breakfasts. Lets hope this new guy will be cleared to play by Saturday. For me, I would like to see Brown and Roscoe out wide feeding Chris McGrail as centre forward. Paul Mullin is not at his best for me (and I know I am going to get slated for this) I think he needs a rest. I know Chris isn't the biggest player in the world, but tonight, Roscoe frightened the defence every time he got the ball. Browny also. There were positives tonight, But Rocky was not one of them. Lets also hope Captain Cav is back on Saturday as well.

I meant to say his ball control and feet where better.
i know he isnt the answer - but IMO, his control was much improved.

no i havent.
we all know about Lee.
his strengths and weaknesses.
Miles in every game i have been to (thats all the league games and LDV) has been carried by the team. He does not work hard, he does not look interested and offers little going forward. His crossing is terrible.
I think miles is a waste of time.
As did 99% of the macclesfield fans.
Im sorry - but they guy does nothing. we where one sided in the second half until he went off.
