Rocky may have played with passion but he made too many mistakes and he is just not good enough. As per usual when a striker goes round him he either pulls him back or knocks him down. Don't know if he will be suspended for Saturday as he got two yellow cards, but we can only live in hope.

We thought that Rocky was shown a yellow before being dismissed, but I can't remember him being booked previous to that. I only remember a Wolves player being booked.

BBC SPORT | Football | League Cup | Wolves 3-2 Accrington (aet)
This report says Sent off Williams, Booked Williams. Telegraph says two yellow cards.
Nobody has mentioned John Mullin's performance last night. I thought he brought a bit of composure to the midfield instead of the usual headless chicken performance of Procky.

As I say, we thought Rocky was shown a yellow before the red, but none of us could remember him getting a first one. It was a professional foul anyway, so it should have been a straight red.
John Mullin did really well last night and he did add composure to the midfield. I hope he can get properly fit, as he will add a lot to the team this year.
As well as Kenny Arthur who also did very well, I think special mention should go to Phil Edwards once again. To my mind he is the best player we have at the club.

Re: vs Poodles
Well done lads - a tremendous performance !!!
I was watching the score updates on Skysports live and couldn't believe it when we took the lead and then held it till 12 or 13 mins before the finish. At one stage, I thought a real upset was on the cards (I'd predicted a 3-0 defeat for Stanley) and it was almost like the results against Nottingham Forest and Watford (ok - we lost the Watford match but that went to a penalty shoot-out).
If only we could play like that week in and week out, we would have no worries and would hold a comfortable mid-table position, but last season, we were so inconsistent - have things really changed ?
I'd love to think so.

Re: vs Poodles
Did anyone get a programme last night? In the pen-pics I couldn't help noticing how much Jay Bell looks like his Dad. Oh, hang on. It was a picture of his Dad!!!

Re: vs Poodles
I have to agree with much of what has been said already. It was a great night to be a Stanley supporter. Kenny Arthur and Phil Edwards were magnificent.
But....I still worry about the attack. I'm not sure that Jamie Clarke is the answer. Although as TM has said, Wolves were technically better than us, we were able to match them in midfield thanks largely to our effort. A huge difference was that we did not put their defence under enough pressure. Surely it would have been a good opportunity to bring on Onibuje, especially after the Wolves equaliser.

I was telling Jase at the Everton match that I thought we should sign Fola, and he said "Yes, but will he play". I thought it was a strange comment at the time, but now I know what he was getting at. Could have been our match winner? Hope he won't go the same way as so many others we have let slip through our fingers annoyingly.

Re: vs Poodles
i agree aswell thought the whole team played good, could find no faults, bobby grant played very well to say hes only young in a big stadium and more than 1000 fans! i think rocky played well all the defence did! it was harsh sending him off on the last minute of extra time but thats football and he did get a big round of applose from the stanley fans so that showed what we thought of his performance! i think fola should of been brought on with the height! we could of just whipped crosses over to him in box and maybe he would of beat the keeper with the header but who knows! hope we can play many more games like that. if we do than i can see no reason why we should not be mid-table
roll on saturday!!!

To be fair, Craney did a hell of a lot of running on Tuesday night. I still think that he has to recapture the quality that he had in the past, but in terms of his effort levels, they were at maximum the other night.
