Re: vs QPR
Well done Stanley and Symes. Done better than most Championship sides will do against a full strength internationally talented QPR side owned by some of the richest men in the World. Let's see these performances in the League and we won't have our league position to worry about.
My other (Championship) team has crashed out at Port Vale by the same score that Stanley beat them home and away last season.

Re: vs QPR
Fact that our performance warranted a better reward underlined:
QPR 2-1 Accrington Stanley - Football News | SPORTBOX.tv - Nothing Inside But Sport
Symes' goal recognised as justifiable consolation by QPR fans as well.

Re: vs QPR
Well done lads. Tonight's performance was almost unrecognisable from saturday's. Luke Joyce was back in centre mid and looked infinitely more comfortable there, and Symes offered more movement up front, though he didn't maybe win as much in the air as mullin might have done. There were decent chances both ways first half including a ryan free kick that symes (?) nearly followed up, and it was certainly level pegging if not stanley ahead on points at the break.
QPR offered more in the second half with their sub Taarabt on, and stanley were on the back foot a bit more. We gave the ball away a little bit more than in the first half but were still very much at the races until they scored. Once the subs (grant & kee, and later turner) were on we created three or four half chances including a good snapshot from miles, but routledge settled it for QPR, notwithstanding a decent finish by symes for the consolation.
I thought symes and joyce were both very good, and turner looked dangerous when he came on. Peter Murphy did well in the first half though he wasn't quite as composed in the second. Jimmy Ryan came off because he was on a card and had been warned by the ref but it also looked like he had picked up a bit of a knock. Not sure about mcconville playing as part of a front two - he has some lovely touches but maybe not burly enough and would be better a bit wider?

Re: vs QPR
"Stanley looked the better side in the first period and played some neat passing football, with the dangerous Symes unlucky not to score on more than one occasion.
Symes pulled one back for Stanley with just seconds left, firing low and hard into the net, and the away fans sang their team off the pitch knowing they deserved more."
Hope this means Symes gets a start on Saturday!

Re: vs QPR
brilliant effort from the team today and we really should have got more from the game. Some nice touches from the QPR fans after the game as many stayed behind once their team had left the pitch and applauded the Stanley support, even when we walked down the road after the game (still singing) the massed Rangers fans outside the home pub put down their pints to clap us and shake our hands. Big effort from everyone today and it was a pleasure to be there.
