Thought you summed it up perfectly this afternoon, Haggis - "The best side Stanley have had since 1958." Let's hope the directors can do them justice by getting us out of this mess!

Re: Vs Rochdale match thread

Another superb away trip.

Fans magnificent, Performance brilliant aswell. Shocking 1st half from both teams, tho we shud have scored at least 5 in the 2nd half.

Agreed Symes had another absolute blinder, he really is on fire at the moment.

only 1% complaint is that McConville simply isnt good enough, tho i dont think he would start if Miles or Turner where fit.

Please for gods sake, sort this bloody mess out, i seriously dont know what ill do IF the worst possible thing happens

Am I watching a different team to you lot? Yet again everyone is coming away with the opinion that Symes was excellent and I just don't see it. His strike for the goal was superb; it was real class, but apart from that I thought he was largely disappointing. Strange.

Kempson was man of the match for me; a lionhearted performance from the big man at the back. I think Dunbavin deserves a mention too. I'm just so glad to come away from Spotland with a result! The lads showed at the end what it meant to them. I'm very proud of Coley & the boys today. Well done red men.

.
He competed in the air and held the ball up well. At one point in the first half Dales centre back stopped bothering to challenge him.
Numerous times he was strong enough to bring the ball down and turn.
He was our only physical presence and did very well.

Re: Vs Rochdale match thread

Two/three times in the first half I can remember Symes jumping well to win headers. Aside from that though nothing stood out (apart from the wonder goal) and he seemed generally apathetic in his play. I thought Kempson, Procter and Kee offered the best physical presence throughout the game. Obviously none of this matters today but I do wish I could see what some of you lot are on about!

Re: Vs Rochdale match thread

Once again I thought that Symes looked the complete centre forward today. The way he leads the line is a joy to watch. I really believe, Shaky, that you need to get the departed PM out of your head and watch Symes's play with an open mind. In my humble opinion, he is one of the main reasons we're doing so well. (No disrespect to the back four, who I thought were great again today!). Let's hope, by Wednesday, it hasn't all gone to waste!

I saw Symes' goal on the FLS and it was a screamer. I think he's been a great capture and I reckon Mr Simpson is regretting letting go of him.

some of the Ultras managed to sneak into the players changing rooms after the game. The place was bedlam with accy songs (proccy leading) & some very strange naked celebrating from Bavs!!!!

An awesome end to the day!

Bring on the legends

Re: Vs Rochdale match thread

Michael Symes goal was deservedly picked out by BBC's FLS as one of the two best of the day: BBC iPlayer - The Football League Show: 2009/2010: 24/10/2009 (start at 1:03:06) and it featured in the closing credits as well!

And, while you're there, don't miss the 'Gary Roberts Show' at 0:49:42.
