Re: vs Stockport County

[quote=cmonstanley;516602] a new way to prepare for matches maybe a dietician for pre-match meals .

Now that is one point that does need serious thought

One of my friends was Chef at Burnley amongst other things one of his main duties was preparing Breakfast & Lunch at Gawthorpe for the players

Re: vs Stockport County

it will never be a serious thought for a club like ours and probably no team in our division.

How much would a decent dietician/chef cost?
Can you conceivably follow the players aroud after they have had their four hours or so at the club?

It is as much as we can do to ensure the lads are fit and healthy, if they then choose to look after themselves properly in their own time then that is a bonus and will help their career and performances. A fit player will probably only get that extra 1% fitness/performance out of a dietician and that (as bad as it sounds) would only make a real difference at the top of the game.

The cost of employing one or two of these type of staff should be right at the very bottom of the list of priorities behind new players, Google Page Ranking staff, Marketing Execs, sales force, general help behind the scenes, expanded stock range for the expanded shop etc etc etc

You can stick your cous-cous up your r's-r's

Harry Redknapp was once asked about dieticians. His reply was something like "If a player cant pass a ball straight, then a bowl of pasta wont make no difference"

Modern full-time footballers (regardless of level) are athletes, not the pint guzzlers of days gone by. You get out of the body what you put into it.
That said, I do not believe a full time dietitian's wage is necessary for our club as the coaching staff can easily implement a dieting regime with appropriate advice, if it isn't already in practice.

Turns out we've all been wrong. It's not Coley's dodgy team selection or tactics, or the players performing like dummies, it's the ref's fault!

Shudda known...

Get gone Coley. You've lost the dressing room, a number of fans, and most importantly - your marbles.

There's a novelty, a manager blaming defeat on the officials

The term 'clutching at straws' springs to mind
