Good idea! We could use Turd Moor and Eerie Park as training pitches.

Re: Walsall game

I have to say it was a hell of a match, but where were the other 300 or so home supporters. We have been getting 2200 home supporters recently at least, yet today we are down to 1900. What the hell have you to do to get decent support in this town! By rights we should have had nearly 3500 mind you Walsall were saying they would bring 1500 and only brought 1200. Still a hell of an away following. Best bit was in the club afterwards and saw the Rochdale score (7-1 to Lincoln). Thought both Walsall goals came from defensive lapses, Liam richardson got caught napping for the second, missed the first though so I am assuming Bav's fumbled? Great Craney goal though. Matched the one that Leighton Baines scored for Wigan against Man U last week. Matched Walsall for 90 mins and deserved something out of the game. C'est la vie, next week maybe.

Re: Walsall game

I thought it was a good header for their first goal by Constable which hit the bar. I think it may be a little harsh to blame Bavs, however he may have been able to tip ball over the bar. We should have had a point, we had most off the play but lacked the final ball in the final third. We looked a little lost for ideas when we had it in the Walsall half and we had many occasions when one of our lads had the chance to shoot but didn't. Phil Edwards was my man of the match. He won most if not all of his battles and some of his passes were fantastic. He seems to be there at exactly the right time and must surely start at Hereford next week..

Re: Walsall game

What a good match today despite the result, i think the support was great, especially the singing/crowd participation getting behind the team has certainly increased. I think we played well certainly in the 1st half where i think we dominated more than walsall im sure we had a few goals denied on target gee i was having an attack on whether we scored or not lol. Shame my blaming prediciton went the other way, we certainly deserved a point but was times of apathy within the team before mangan came on.

Hope we do well next wekk at Hereford i'll keep the faith & wont be there to jinx em lol

I've read this thread and I'm very annoyed I do not believe there was only 3100 on today. There was no way on earth we could have fit another 2000 fans on the ground to fill to capacity. I know we've discussed this before and I've been threatened but this time sue me. Today fans turned up and supported us but the club for some reason (I think we know why) chooses to declare a lower gate making us a laughing stock once again.
Because I choose to say what I think I get info in e-mails and PMs and even in brown envelopes through my door, I have nothing to hide all I want is for a more realistic gate figure to be presented, rant over.

1200 away fans,
all seats full = 1200,
which means 800 on the clayton end and the cow shed.
It looked very full from where I was stood.

Re: Walsall game

Don't worry about the attendances. We've been struggling with this for years with our 'neighbours'.It will improve with time. We've always been everyone's 'second' favourite club in the West Midlands. Thanks for the hospitality today and sorry we were so poor with a couple of our key players missing. Best of luck for the rest of the season and look forward to seeing a BIG Stanley crowd at Bescot.

Re: Walsall game

After reading Rob Heys comments in todays programme I suppose he thinks we might fill the remaining 2000 spaces with "travellers" and "veil wearers", utter crap.

Re: Walsall game

Although yesterday's gate was a little disappointing, building up support for Stanley is going to be a long, slow process - a case of two steps forward and one step back. OK, there were only 1900 Accy on, as compared to 2200 for the Swindon game, but don't forget that there were only around 1500 home fans on for the Barnet match. We're making progress in terms of support but only slowly. Don't forget, most of us on here are caught up in the romance of a league return after 44 years, but most local folk are a lot more hardheaded than that. They will come, but only to watch a winning, entertaining team in an exciting and passionate atmosphere. Despite yesterday's result, we are starting to offer them that and hopefully gates will continue, slowly but surely, to rise!
