I'm a bit late in posting, but I can only echo the sentiments of previous posters.
To finish 15th after the horrendous start that we had, is an achievement all involved can be immensely proud of.
To continually confound our critics and scoff at all the doubters, should give the Chairman, board of directors, all the staff at the club, our fans and most importantly all the players and our magnificent management team a great inner warmth of satisfaction.
My special salutation goes to James Beattie. Whilst he may still be classed as a "rookie" to some, to have the strength of mind and character to not only mastermind our continued survival in a tough, tough season, but to pass an exam in twelve weeks which takes others twelve months to complete, shows qualities that will, in time, be sought after and envied by other prospective employers.
I hope that Mr Marsden and the board recognize these qualities and reward James and all his management team with extended contracts.
The gamble to appoint Beatts has paid off. He's laid some solid foundations that need building on.
Last season was very reminiscent of our first back in the league under Coley. Initial struggle followed by very determined fight to reach safety. With continued backing, I can see Beattie getting us up towards the higher reaches of League two and even beyond.
