Loads of snow south of Darwen. Not looking forward to driving over if it doesn't get any better

Re: whats the weather like

Snowing in Accy right now. You may have the ironic situation of the ground being fit and the match being off because of the state of the roads and pavements.

Re: whats the weather like

Getting light flurries of snow here at the moment. As far as the pitch goes snow is less of a problem than rain as long as you clear it before it melts. I helped clear the pitch against halifax as couple of years ago and where we took the snow of it was perfect underneath, just a ref who didn't want to get changed and a bit cold on that occaision stopped the game going ahead.

It's getting worse here. Even if the game is on, I can't see me being there.

Leyland is fairly clear - we just got a small layer of it last night which is still on some rooftops but the ground is clear - might pop over to Accy and help out with the covers n stuff - need a brew first though

Re: whats the weather like

Snowing here in West Yorkshire so won't be risking it today unfortunately.

What are the terraces and the roads like round the ground - game as likely to be called off because of their state even if the pitch is OK isn't it?

And as I type the sun's just come out as well!!!

Right, sod it, setting off now. If it's called off, I can always spend the afternoon in the bar.

It's ok, I'll sit with you and we can keep each other company if it's called off

Re: whats the weather like

the snow in Accy and Blackburn is melting away now, all roads locally seem to be clear - although obviously there will still be a bad patch or two here and there. Shouldn't be a problem on the terraces or the field unless we get an early deep freeze - which isn't forecast.

nice one thanks - it's nearly all gone here as well - so I'll tell my Beloved I've changed my mind and I'm off to the match - oh how pleased she'll be!!
