Where are we at?
I've been away on holiday for a while and I've come back to the positive news that one of the weeks has arrived and the embargo has been lifted.
So who is in the squad? And is there anyone 'a day or two away' from signing?

Re: Where are we at?
Embargo lifted.
Squad as of 05/08/10: Cisak, Dunbavin, Murphy, Bateson, Hessey, Edwards, Winnard, Hall, Riley, Burton, Ryan, Procter, Joyce, Putterill, Barnett, Parkinson, Turner, McConville, Lindfield, Boulding.
Coley & Jimmy, as far as we know, still don't have contracts.
The ground hasn't got it's safety certificate for the season yet.
We need a candlestick maker, pronto.

Re: Where are we at?
The negativity on this site is overwhelming. Maybe the club isn't making an issue of the safety certificate issue because there isn't an issue to be made. The Embargo that had many on here seemingly ready to hang themselves, didn't stop the trialing and eventual signings of the players Coley wanted.
The assembled squad is as good as could be expected for a club of Stanley's size. Had there been no embargo, i don't believe The squad would have been any better.
Saturday will come, the Football League season starts and Accrington Stanley will be part of it, and i for one am delighted about that.

Re: Where are we at?
What negativity?
The furore over this supposed negativity seems to be much more frequent & potent than any of the alleged negative posts.

Re: Where are we at?
It's not negativity - we are born worriers!
We worry that things are not in place when in any well run set up they would be.
We worry that no direct information is forthcoming even though ASFC recognize this as the authorised forum.
We worry that being uneconomical with the truth has been a habit in the past.
BUT
We have faith in the proven.
Faith in JC and JB.
Faith in the team they have formed.
Faith in our fellow supporters.
Faith that it will be ON STANLEY ON!,,

Re: Where are we at?
Thanks for the advice. Not sure why you felt the need to get personal. No need really. I would have though new posters would be encouraged on this forum, not told to sod off to other sites.

To be honest I had expected to come back to a squad of about 12/13 and be in the middle of a mad rush of signings.
I assume Coley and Jimmy will sign contracts in September time, there's no point doing it when August is already a busy month and we may want to make a few loan signings.
If our game goes ahead against Aldershot at the Crown, then we can consider ourselves one step ahead of Blackpool

"We are going to sit down with John and Jimmy on Friday and hopefully they will sign this contract and it will all be sorted out," said O’Neill earlier this week. - Accrington Observer, April 16th.
