Re: Where did it all go wrong today?

coco the clown made people laugh, this "goalkeeper" doesn't make me laugh, he makes me think I am a poor judge of a footballer ( along with at least 1400 who watches coco play in our goals) I have one suggestion - Blu Tak on his gloves might doe the trick, I bet he doesn't drop his wages!!

Given the number of first timers on the ground today, that was a very poor advertisement for Conference football, exciting second half though!

Re: Where did it all go wrong today?

come on why blame him for the game today he didnt pay badly and whilst he wears the shirt off accrington stanley u should surport him and anyone else who ears the mighty red shirt including cooky. We had a bad performance today but come on if u had been offered to be in this position at the start of the season would u not have grabbedit with open arms (i know i and many other fans would have) fith in the table and with still a chance of returning to the football league just a possible 10 pionts away form the playoffs

Todays performance was not the best but it your not happy with being 4 wins from 5 away from playoffs then theres no pleasing some people.

I tell u summut though if there was alot of first timers im sure many will come back with a 2 goal fight back (exciting) and good banter between the fans ultras noisy once again. I think its better than they will get at rovers anyway. so lets hope they return but i think they will

Re: Where did it all go wrong today?

Lets Remember, we are still in the play off positions...I dont think Crichton should be referred to as a clown though. Everyone makes mistakes, when goalkeepers make them they are crucial, look at Carroll, Seaman, the list continues....

Not many games left and we are in with a chance. I dont always agree with Mr Colemans decisions on team selection but there is nothing I can do about it. Like someone said earlier, he gets paid to pick a team. If we win then its great. if we lose and keep losing then I am sure he will gladly accept the consequences of it.

Lets get behind them, forgive the errors (until the end of the season) and cheer the team into the football league!!!!

ok, ok no one can doubt we are 100% behind the lads but when I hear the asst manager (ding dong) say "Crichton, best keeper in the league" then it does tend to make you a bit nervous! Plus he was promised if he came when we were down to one keeper he would be started unless he couldn't get there i.e midweek matches or was injured!

Re: Where did it all go wrong today?

We started as we finished at Burton on Fri night-looking washed out & very little comitment. Thank goodness Evil is back for Saturday cos at this point in the season we need 11 players commitment not just two or three. Even Cookie said to me after the game it was diabolical-certailnly not what should be expected fron promotion contenders. The pressure is now on cos we need 15 points at least from our remaining games to be in with a shout. Not impossible-if we dont repeat todays performance. Sorry to say so but Cookie needs to let the main team players have a go too & only come on when the game is beyond doubt-two woeful performances we didnt need from last two games, coaching only from now on mate-WE WANT LEAGUE FOOTBALL TOO SO PLAY IT SAFE!!!!

Re: Where did it all go wrong today?

I was one of those who brought 2 first timers today (one a wigan fan and one a neutral MUFC fan) - both have said they want to come again, so maybe it was not that bad. As for Coco the Clown, I thought he was that daft Barsteward in the middle in black. Denied us a stone wall penalty. Nowt wrong with Dave Browns first half goal either, he was running through the defence. Great substitutions though - very inspired. As was said on Radio Lancs after the game, that was our fourth game in 10 days whereas York had a week off. Says it all. I do wish J.C. would stop putting Cookie on for last 10 mins, we nearly lost the game because of his passing. Thought Ian Craney looked good today, and Mullers (I am not a great admirer of him) impressed me with his non-stop work today, even when he was held and the clown could not see it from 4 feet, never mind 10 yards. Good crowd as well - 2201. O.K. could have been better, but it was a better atmosphere than of late.
Yes we can still do it, but need others to trip up/lose. Although even from todays results, others are helping out.

Re: Where did it all go wrong today?

how can people blame coley. he puts the best side he thinks that will work and tell them what he wants them to do. thats all coley can do he cant be 11 men all at same time

then its up to the players and today i personally thought that we was creating chances but not putting them away like Lee Mc was doing. so hopefully now lee is back he can put away some of these chances that we have struggled to finish.

personally i would play danny in goals because when we played hereford on sky for hes debut he saved some cracking shots. and i dont think hes put a foot wrong.

well get as many friends as you can down to the I.E.S and cheers the red men on for the last couple of games and why not treat yourself and book on the coach to crawley and keep the spirt and cheer EVERY stanley player on till the end

ON STANLEY ON

Lindsay , I believe you're absolutely right to say what you really think.

Whether it's politics , religion or football , you can be quite sure that anyone who wants to shoot the messenger is starting from a position of weakness.

Granted , there are those who will pass an opinion on something about which they know nothing , but your credentials are sound - as are those of other contributors to this thread.

You're not disloyal , in fact it's the ostriches who do any club a disservice.

Considered , constructive analysis - yes , even with a bit of criticism - is the lifeblood of any forum or club. Especially when we're pushing for promotion !

Re: Where did it all go wrong today?

Easter Monday fifty years ago Stanley played York City at Peel Park the score was 2-2,York
scored twice against the run of play, and in the second half Stanley managed to grab a couple of goals to share the points, this result dented Stanleys promotion bid to the second division,I remember it well because I was there,it seems yesterday result was a big case of
Jay Da Veu.

Nope, only 4 at the time. I learned about it by reading up on Stanley's history.
