Whither the 'Midfield'???????

With the Darlington Match still, painfully, at the forefront of my thinking.
Why, when the game was crying out for some creativity from Stanley's midfield...instead of the square-passing to Cav, who had to do most of the probing, or even worse, the constant bringing of Kenny Arthur into play from the Centre Circle, was that suave gent and intelligent footballer David Brown limited to two or three 'warming-up' runs down the touchline ?...

Is it time to replace honest endeavour with a bit of know-how,,,,or is it just me building my 'castles in the air'....

Re: Whither the 'Midfield'???????

The problem yesterday was that Proctor and Harris were the best players on the field, so to replace one of them with Brown would not have an option.

We'll be ok when Craney comes back.

Re: Whither the 'Midfield'???????

the problem for me was not that the midfield are lacking, but the forwards are not penetrating and getting shots away. The build up play against Leicester was fantastic, the build up play against Darlington was not terrible, but when the ball got to the 18 yard box it was being cleared away every time.

When we start to shoot we may start scoring goals again.
