For my part, I'm just pleased Coley proved he can and is willing to make changes in a match and for it to have an impact.
And not long to fester.....on to Gillingham on Tuesday night....

i was very pleased he made subs at half time,we certainly needed it. we were a bit better second half but to me apart from Hughes the defence was very poor today. i could not blame the keeper for any of the goals.

Not picking on the lad but fact is his last 4 appearance,s have been nothing short of below par and it's a big squad, would love the lad to perform as he undoubtedly has talent but to me you have to deserve your place.

Think that’s harsh, he made a difference when he came on today, it would be a different story if his header had gone in. He work’s tirelessly in that 3 in the middle.
I disagree about the big squad sentiment, especially when you consider Sangare is out injured.
Who else would you play in the middle in the system Coley has chosen?

Re: Wigan game
I think you two are both looking at the wrong players. With Macca out Colby's just not been getting the service. Not enough decent crosses into the box. Pritchard nearly always opts to shoot these days and for some reason Uwakwe, when he plays. often opts to come in side (may just be good defending by other teams) instead of heading to the by-line and crossing, When he crosses his balls into the box are nearly always good quality.

Yesterday was one of those games after the first 10 minutes every Stanley player apart from Hughes switched off Wigan got their tales up and even Coley said it could have been 5. You could apart from Hughes taken any player off at half time as for service to the front two the number of crosses / passes that zipped across the goalmouth I lost count it could have been 10-9 but the damage was done, team still learning and today hopefully it will be a lesson learnt wide open division no stand outs you can quickly drop as easily as go up so Gillingham will be big test of character.

Agree Cashy. I put it down to them being young loanees. They obviously have ability but are learning the game. It's the reason they are with us after all. At least Coley has quality in numbers this year and is willing to rotate them. Something he hasn't either had the option to do or been willing to do in the past.
I don't remember feeling more positive about the team and its quality for many seasons. It will be interesting to see how they react to Saturday's set back at Gillingham on Tuesday.
A completely different type of game in prospect. I expect it will be an ugly game with lots of what Sean Mc refers to as the "dark arts". Gillingham tend to sit back, concede possession and frustrate teams only attacking on the break with long balls.....

Your spot on loannees come to learn and are a risk of the six we have Baxter looks good but can't get in due to Savin,s form, Sangare the pick of the others in what he has shown injured. Cassidy willing work horse suffers from being on the bench, Russell, Uwakawe, and Allen have shown glimpses of what they can do but does it warrant runs in the side Coley decide,s. A fully fit McConville will surely if playing well will take one central midfield berth.

Yeah you've said that twice in the same thread haha !
Going back to your comment about being constructive I decided not to comment and reflect.
Seamus had a poor game particularly with the standards hes recently set.
I expected him to be rested yesterday hes struggled with the covid so has his family. Ive no doubts there are others as well.
Pritchard has turned into a selfish player - probably under instruction - but his lack of awareness of others around him particularly the front two is not helping the cause in my opinion.
On to the next one .....

Re: Wigan match thread
Apart from the back 3 and keeper Pritchard has been our stand out player for me 6 goals in all competitions yes greedy at times as his Charles 7 goals they want to score and that is no bad thing supply to the front 2 well count 1st half as a one off 2nd half and even Coley said though not deserving of the win we could have had a hatful crosses on plates for strikers that game could have been 10-9 will be a totally different game Tuesday Gillingham long ball soak the pressure up team will be a hard test.
