Wimbledon

Just wondering what the chances are of the match taking place on Saturday with the flood damage to their pitch. Notice their League Cup match against Newcastle has been postponed tomorrow and moved to Newcastle next Tuesday.

Re: Wimbledon

According to the Wombles website, the game won't take place at their stadium as the pitch and facilities won't have been reinstated by then. I wonder if they/we could "reverse" the fixture and play it at our place.....then play the later fixture at their stadium?

I suspect that's far too sensible a suggestion to be acted upon

Re: Wimbledon

Whatever the powers that be decide it looks highly unlikely we'll be playing at Plough Lane on Saturday - the damage to their pitch is unbelievable

Re: Wimbledon

The Crewe game the week after ours has been called off already, but they still have not decided about our game??????

Got to think it will be being switched, which will three away games on the bounce in February.........

To be fair, the Crewe game has been postponed as that's the date they are now playing Newcastle

Re: Wimbledon

Match postponed - suppose it saves us 2 long trips within a couple of days but surely they could have reversed the fixtures - ah well Clitheroe it is then, come on you Blues

Re: Wimbledon

WOW. That's all worked out rather well for Wimbledon. No distractions from their big cup game and share of a much bigger crowd revenue and media rights......Of course there's a "bit" of pitch work to sort out but assuming they are insured, it should be OK......meanwhile we may well be bottom of League 2 by 5pm on Saturday.

It would cost cost Stanley money if it was allowed. £5m in debt and being charged interest on it, Stanley can't really afford charity.
