I was watching them train last week, a certain forward missed a chance and you would have thought he had missed a last second sitter to win the world cup. Serious stuff

We can only finish as high as 13th ... Dag & Red (12th) and Cheltenham (16th) play each other, so one of these will have more points than us even if we beat the Wombles.
Apart from our playoff season, our highest finish since our return to the League has been 14th so to match or beat that would be a hugely impressive feat even without considering the start that we had.

Don't know about Ewood but there'll be no pain or misery at the.Crown Ground today, we've secured a ninth season in the football league when not many gave us a cat in hell's chance of more than one or two when we were promoted, so no misery today. . . . . . . It's party time

Re: Wimbledon final match thread
Quite right, AccyMad! After party time at the Crown, do you really want to subject yourself to the tedium of the Chicken Farmers?

Re: Wimbledon final match thread
A great way to end the season, but it wouldn't be Stanley without a few last gasp nerves, though we really didn't look in any danger of missing out on the win. Good performances from Hunt, Liddle, Windass, Joyce and Gray, plus the usual from Betts and Aldred. Nice to see Lee Moly celebrating with the fans at the end too!
Great end to what has turned out to be wonderful season.I just hope we can consolidate and move on upwards a bit without any alarms.

Re: Wimbledon final match thread
Unfortunately, Sarah, Emily and myself have been unable to get to many games this season due to work, finances and bad health, however today we managed to get along and support the lads and I thought they played like it was the first game never mind the last! Well done to all at the club for securing yet another season in the football league.
Hoping to be a bit more regular next season! Onwards and upwards

Re: Wimbledon final match thread
A high tempo game from Stanley from the off perhaps flagged a little towards the End but a thoroughly deserved three points to round off the season.

Re: Wimbledon final match thread
Great last game result. I woke up involuntary, at 3 AM, switched on the computer and it said 3-0 Stanley. I climbed back in my bed and slept like an angel, content that we would finish on a high. Must've been a scary ending , but 3 points is 3 points. Well done all concerned.

Re: Wimbledon final match thread
How come we stay in the Football League comfortably every year while those who see us as easy prey go down instead of us?
