Win at Luton looks vital.
After today I really think next week's game is looking like a six pointer, yeah I know there is a lot of the season to go butwe have been slipping down that greasy pole called Division two !

Re: Win at Luton looks vital.
At this point the game against Morecambe is more of a 6 pointer than Luton. Bournmemouth & Rotherham are the 2 danger teams from the bottom 3

I think the point is, as I said in the other thread, that something is needed against Luton as the team will be rock bottom at the moment. Lose again at Luton and it'll make even harder at Morecambe.

A positive result from all forthcoming games is 'vital' from now on Slerpy !.
The Reds still have a reasonable grip on 'the Greasy Pole'particularly if they turn in performances like that seen at the FES this afternoon.
But now is not the time for 'Doom and Gloom' (There's enough of that about already!), better if we look for positives at the FES and translate these into the sort of support that true Accrington Stanley fans can generate when it's really needed most !!
You realise of course that I'm risking being accused of wearing my Stanley Rose-coloured spectacles again !.
But if you don't look for the best...all you ever see is the worst !...

Re: Win at Luton looks vital.
all results are vital.
there is no need to panic based on yesterdays performance, if anything I am more confident.

Re: Win at Luton looks vital.
looking forward to my first away game of the season. I definitely think this is an early six pointer as we need to re-establish a good gap between us - but Morecambe is bigger for many reasons

Re: Win at Luton looks vital.
one thing i gotta say fer all the J.C. bashers, with the limited budget n low comperable wages, what the hell do you expect to get taking charge? only a fool can expect stanley to challenge fer promotion as is. i don't know the guy, but he has worked wonders with the "Pittance" so to me whats the point of knocking? accept what is n hope. its that simple. by all accounts it was a good display yesterday, with a bad last 10, most of the guys are probably punching above their weight n need encouragement to me. get real.

As usual I'm right with you Cashy. There is no apparent alternative to what exists both Player-wise and as far as 'the Management' is concerned at the FES. This as I've said elsewhere begs all those who purport to be 'Fans' to accept the facts which you have identified and then concentrate on assuring OUR Team of our total support, rather than constantly looking for an opportunity to knock the efforts put in by 'The Reds'.

another good post by you. the people who knock the players and management at the first mistake. apart from the last 10mins you could not fault the lads, they played with pride they showed how good of football they can play at home and make the FES a fortress just like the good conferance days! who else do you expect to get in as management with as much pride, passion, love and determination for the club than john and jimmy. they were more gutted than any of us yesterday you could see it in thier faces, and for a so called 'fan' and i use it lightly to shout abuse to john after game was wrong, i know we are all entitled to our own say as we pay to see the game but i just think it was wrong. we aint going to bring in some top league manager, with 10+years league experience are we get real! we will proberly get someone with none or minor league experince. now isnt that just the same as john and jimmy they have 2+years experince in league football! but they love the club and thats something hardly any other club managers have. with the wage budget, transfer money available they do a hell of a good job to keep us where we are today! i am proud to be a stanley fan becuase we are punching above our weight but for the first 80mins yesterday it certainly didnt look that way! it looked like we were easy a mid-table top 10 team! we have a great and loyal management team, good players, good fans, great backroom staff. we have got hisotry, we all have pride and passion for the club. we fought to get where we was today, and we will keep fighting to go higher. so i ask once for people to look where we are today and where we was in 1998, so lets support the management, support the players, encourage them, just like in the 80mins yesterday. i want coley and jimmy to stay becuase i belive they can take us further like mid table, maybe even top 10. a win on saturday and everyone will forget about the last 10mins on saturday. keep the faith

Re: Win at Luton looks vital.
I wonder how much Jimmy Bells comments pre-season will haunt us on Saturday. He may have or may not have said the things that were published (editorial licence and all that) but, Luton will be gunning for us and we may be like lambs to the slaughter although I hope not and hope we can get a win at any cost.
