Worried
This is the first time since I have been supporting Stanley that, after the annual complete renewal of the team, I have been coming away from the early season matches worried.
In previous years, although we may have been beaten early on, I have come away thinking that we have the nucleus of a good team, and that I can see promise, and hope. Some years I have even come away thinking, "wow".
Not this year.
I think that Saturday sums it up, when a second half substitute is given Man of the Match ???????
Although we are only two games into the season I am seriously worried about the future, and that the "year on year improvement" is at an end....

Re: Worried
Calm Down, just remember, this is only the third game this team has played together. They need a few games to gel.

Re: Worried
Dont be that worried!!,A good base for a team starts at the keeper and defence and Accis is looking ok.
The facts are, after two games they have conceeded a penalty and a fluke goal.
The problem is they have lost there flair/best players so its going to be hard whilst the new lads bed in.
I am sure thats why we are going long at the moment and playing safe/basic football.
The manager will be aware of this, and expect a few additions to increase competition.
At the moment its about points not performances

Re: Worried
I see enough positives in the 1st half v Scunthorpe not to be worried, infact i stuck 5er on Stanley being promoted the following morning.
keep the faith.

Re: Worried
Im not worried............................... yet.
Another big test tomorrow night.
But we really are short 1 or 2 bodies, especially up front/ attacking midfield.
At the back ive no problem really, Southend where very good going forward, and with Dickinson in their side, goals and problems will always come.

Re: Worried
To be fair smudgie,Southend were very direct, and played to there strengths (6-4 centre forward !).
They werent a great footballing team, just going long and looking for the second balls (stevenages blue print for success !!).
It will be the same against Bradford if Hanson plays,so defending the second balls will again be important

Agreed. Bradford will be more of a test as they have lost 2 and drawn one of their first 3 games, the same as us. Should be an interesting game

Re: Worried
Didn't Wes Fletcher start the game? Or did he not get Man of the Match?
