Question XI -v- Macc???

Seeing as many of us have strong views on the shape of the Team in recent times, who should/should not play, who needs a rest, plus the hopes of promotion/play offs fading fast, what Team should we be picking/playing tomorrow night, at home to Macc - a Team we should be looking to beat - in an attempt to kick start our season end run in!!

Just a bit of fun Fantasy League, it ain't!!!

I would play:-

Bavs,

Phil, Kempo, Flynn, Winnard,

Chris, Milesy, Proccy, Joyce,

Billy, Bobby.

Bench:-

Bouzer, Jimmy, Murphy, Lees, McConville!

Bavs has not done anything wrong so play him, Tom Lees has been out of sorts for a few weeks, not been at his best, give him a rest, Chris and Milesy can swap wings and mix it up - Milesy must perform against his old club! Billy has been chomping at the bit for weeks and Symes looked totally b******* on Saturday, give him the night off, do not even bother with the bench, it will pay in the long run!

There is enough on the bench to change it and we have 8 games this month, so we must rest some players as has become evident in recent games!

We will have much more tougher games to come shortly than Macc, so it would be an ideal time to try to change it

Just my point of view, I think we can all guess the actual starting line up, but this is more fun

Re: XI -v- Macc???

Bouza

Lees Flynn Edwards Winnard

Turner Joyce Ryan Grant

Kee Symes

My reasons............

Bouza. Has made 1 mistake and has been instantly dropped, how many games have we won with Bavs in ???

Lees. Has been steady, nobody better to play there IMO

Flynn. Give him the chance, Kempo has made 3 bad mistakes and needs a rest

Edwards. Last Saturday apart mr consistency.

Winnard. see edwards

Turner. Must start simple as, a breath of fresh air.

Ryan. Midfield dynamo, always gives 100%

Joyce. Great defensive midfielder to break up play.

Grant. Undroppable obviously, but maybe try him on the left??

Kee. Chomping at the bit to play, and has scored a few

Symes. Must play simple as. But maybe NOT for the 90 minutes.

Bench

Bavs, Proccy, King, Mullin, Miles, Mcconville, Kempson

Oi,

I play in goals, is in my contract!!! My finest moment was for the reserves V Blackpoool Mechanics!!

Rob Heys is a striker, Iylas is a midfield general

Surely Vikki is best left outside!!!!

Agree with you fully, however don't think Coley has the balls to take the bull by the horns and make a statement. How many games must we lose before changes are made. i am totally baffled.

Bouzanis
Joyce Edwards Kempson Winnard
Turner Ryan Procter Grant
Symes Kee

Theoretically we'd get much better wing play with Joyce/Turner and Winnard/Grant. You've got Turner who is electric going forward but he'll also chase the opposition down like a bull terrier when the they're in posession. You know Joyce is solid defensively and will be the one in the back line to pick a pass carefully whereas Lees, Kempson, Winnard and even Edwards look for the punt. Having Grant in front of Winnard makes us more balanced both defensively and in attack as he's the same as Turner; hungry to win the ball back when the opposition have it. Grant will track back well whereas Miles won't, we'll need a player like that on the wing up against that Sinclair lad who is on fire at the minute. On top of all that, Bobby's wicked left foot is only used in dead ball situations lately because he's being muscled out up front, which is such a waste.
With regards to the 'keeper situation, it's clear that Bavs gives no confidence to the back four whatsoever but there must be some issue with Bouzanis. Whether he's got the Alan Martin syndrome of thinking he's better than he is I don't know but the stats are clear; we win more games when Dunbavin is on the bench.
Thinking again about the centre halves, I wouldn't take out either Kempson or Edwards on Tuesday. Macclesfield are a weaker opposition to face and keeping a clean sheet against them may help to rebuild confidence for future games. If Coley can make the lads relocate their testes then there's no need to go making massive changes. We just need to use what we've got because there's a lot going to waste at the minute.

Dunbavin

Joyce Kempo Flynn Richardson

Turner Proctor Mullin Miles

King Kee

Symes and Grant need a rest, I think that much is blatantly obvious. As Shakermaker said Joyce is solid defensively and the back four haven't looked solid for a while. Edwards made some mistakes and a rest tonight will do him some good, same for Winnard. Dunbavin should stay in goal, there was one mistake against Notts County, but we're in League Two we aren't expecting Buffon in the net are we? Miles has impressed me recently, Turner needs a run in the first team as he provides a lot of danger to the opposition defences on the wing and Mullin can bring some experience in to the middle of the park.
smudgie: Ryan was not putting 100% in against Notts County, maybe he assumes he will be on the team sheet.

Re: XI -v- Macc???

This is Macca's take on the team from the Chris Turner thread and I have to agree with him

.............................Boozer............... ..........

.........Lees.............Winnard..............Fly nn.........

.............................Joyce................ ................

......Turner........Procter.......Ryan...........G rant........

.......................Symes..............Kee..... ..................

Subs: all the others

The only change I would make is possibly play Gary King instead of Symes and give him a rest along with Phil and Kempo. But if things are not working up front, then bring Symes on and reduce the midfield to 4 and go 3-4-3. I agree with others Bav's has not done a lot wrong, but I would go with Boozer

Ozzy you are spot on with your comments. Conversely Boozer didn't do much wrong when the team enjoyed a remarkable winning streak, however he was abruptly dropped. Nothing against Bavs, however I believe the team would benefit from Boozer's return.
