Yet another clueless substitution

We could all see it coming. Coley taking off Kissock with 20 minutes to go and only 1-0 up, but looking likely to increase the lead with JP running the Brentford defence ragged. To then hand the initiative to the opposition was a criminal offence and the inevitable happened. Mind you, the new number 9 had a great chance to make it 2-0 but couldn't convert it, although he does look to be a good foil for Mully.
Feels like Bradford all over again, but worse somehow.

Got to agree with redraine the substitution cost us dear tonight,if Coley is a football genius then why did he make a suicidal substitution. We were quite capable of taking 3 points of a very poor brentford side, young kissock was running their left sided defenders ragged and he must have been disapointed to be subbed.I wouldn't blame him if he went back to everton, things need to change if we are to get the points we need to ensure safety.

It felt worse because the Bradford thing, after 1 you could feel 2 and 3! But tonight I did not think they would have scored at all, but even after Kissock went off they looked to have more chance to attack, but still I did not think that we would have anything but 3 points from tonight.

Well and truely cheesed off tonight....

Re: Yet another clueless substitution

before the game if someone had said a 1-1 draw on a side that was 2nd in the league we are 18th you would of took it period! he should not of took kissock of he was playing really good! had lots of skills should of took miles off or even j.mullin! lindfield did play well he made some really good runs! would of been good if he did score the 1 on 1 but a point is better than 0

Not disputing the fact that he brought on Murdock, just the fact that he took off Kissock and left us with no width. Surely better taking off Lindfield or Miles and leaving Kissock on to stretch Brentford's defence. I thought it was a good move bringing on Murdock to look after Nathan Elder but not a good move taking off Kissock.

Agree MCR, Milesy had a very quiet game - yes I know he does that from time to time, but he was quiet even by Milesy's own quiet standards - and it would have been a better move for us to have taken him off, leave Kissock on to keep pressing forwards and shore up the defence with Murdock. But its all history now. All in all I would most definatley have taken a point against a team that has been banging them in recently, but with less than 60 secs to go last night standing in The Clayton End I really wanted 3

Bring on Ballmouth........

Re: Yet another clueless substitution

Weird one that, upto 2nd half i would of taken a point no Q, but then something different .... more than likely shock horror stanley played & came at them, Kissock was amazing, he had passion & will to goal even tho a bit kevin keeganish in appearance pmsl. Why was he subbed for murdock, instead someone else? trouble with the genius JC is that he tends to do that quite often, is when a player shows passion & going for it - he takes em off?!? It ended a disappointment because we were more than capable of gaining the full 3 pnts, Brentford - top of league in jammy were rubbish, actually worse than us - just the luck of JC's usual lack of judgment of subs, a useless ref & a stretched 94mins in order to equalise!

Didn't Kissock have cramp the week before, better off the pitch than risking a potential injury.

If he had cramp, then we had a ready made sub on the bench ....CHRIS TURNER !!!!!!!!!!!

Coley could still have used Murdock as well. When was the last time Coley used 3 subs???????????
