Youth Team Vs Bury

For those Of you unable to go to northampton, will be good to support the young boys coming through

Accrington Stanley FC Youth v Bury FC Youth KO 10.30am

The Youth Team will kick off the season at Shawbridge, home to local Evo-Stick First Division North Clitheroe FC in a local derby with Bury FC Youth.
The young Reds have worked hard during pre-season and will want to hit the ground running and give a good account of themselves in front of their own fans, especially following the tremendous start the first team are enjoying. Phil Hackney has seen his squad 'blend' over the last few weeks, putting together some good individual and team performances in pre-season friendlies and hoping that their efforts are rewarded, he has very high hopes for this current squad of youngsters. It is always a 'lift' for the team to get a good performance in the first game of the season and gives them the impetus to strive even higher as the season unfolds. At this level, the performances of individuals and the team as they develop are far more important than the result, although adopting a 'win' mentality is still a major, underpinning principle and Phil, Asa and the team will want to get off to a winning start, be assured.

This weekend will be an ideal opportunity for the Stanley 'faithful' who are not travelling to Northampton Town FC to take in the next 'crop' of apprentices and possibly see the next Robert (Bobby) Grant, Peter Murphy, Chrissy Turner, Alan Burton and Zak Riley, current first team squad players who have all come through the Youth ranks with Phil Hackney.
A good crowd has a profound effect on players, whether apprentices or senior professionals and it would be a fantastic lift for the young Reds to have backing and support as they run out for the first game of the season. Admittance is by programme £1.50 (no concessions, although children will be admitted free) at the gate with all proceeds going towards the Accrington Stanley FC Youth Development Programme. One 'lucky' programme will contain a £10 ASFC Retail Outlet Voucher
