Frogs - not French :-)
There was a post on here not long back about frogs and to be honest I cant be ar**d looking for it
Antway, I found this little chap today whilst out and about, bit grubby though, he kept jumping in the grit

Well done rescuing it but maybe you should have kissed it and found your prince, that froglet is a toadling, they have had a bad year and every one saved is great for the environment, well done you
Brilliant pictures by the way, if you look closely you can make out tiny bumps over it (sure sign its a toad)

Frogs are usually smooth.Toads have lumps and bumps.

Yeah but you can't see smooth or lumps and bumps in K.S.H's picture so how's todbear managed to tell them apart?

Look closely at the top picture you can see small tiny lumpy bits.And its skin is not smooth and shiney

frogs tend to be slightly more green coloured and toads are more brown coloured, I have been watching them leaving the canal from my boat, I took loads of photos but none were a patch on that one. One morning there were dozens climbing the side of the canal and moving into little holes I shall put one of my pics up but they are not very good

Good stuff,I used to have a pet one in a vivarium.It was an Argentinian Hornback.I found him uniqe he actually ate mice not just insects(locusts etc)

here is one picture please bear in mind I am hanging over the side of the boat and had to use flash as it was dark down there, the picture has been cropped to show up the toads so definition is not good
