Re: New Trees In Hodder St

Was that footpath flags before they did the work on it?
It looks terrible compared to the other side.
Why on earth did they not reduce the width of the footpath and increase the width of the road so cars can park on the road where they belong?

I saw them midway through planting these, they obviously wanted crap trees to match the new even crapper pavement. I bet the council got a fortune from `re-cycling` the old flagstones( well selling them on anyway)Fair enough the trees will grow but what about the pavement.

I wouldn't worry too much about a warped pavement due to root growth. Those trees will probably last no more than a fortnight before the local yobs have snapped 'em in half.

Tarmac pavement, concrete road, paving stones on the other pavement, what a mess HBC have made to a what was a decent looking street.

Re: New Trees In Hodder St

Highways are Lancashire County Council now not HBC. It was LCC, then they gave control to HBC then a couple of yours ago took that control back off them so that mess will be a design by LCC.

As a resident of Hodder St i dont like the fact that the trees have been replace with little skinny twigs that we will have to wait ages for them to grow. I prefer the old cherry blossoms that were mature.
