Black & White, contrast and tones are a bit off in the coloured one, looks artificial

Depends on how you want us to judge it Jedimaster. The coloured one is more pleasing and inviting, whereas, agree with Emamum on the black and white, looks like Dracula is going to emerge any minute.
If it for technical reasons, then the black and white ..but I don't know ought about photography really..

The grass looks so acidically green it would give me a headache.
Not a comment on your undoubted photographic skills, just an observation on the subject matter's colour.

I'm in agreement with Accyweb's Brian Sewell. I've never seen grass that colour.
