Re: Sligo Rovers v Accrington?

It was actually a very enjoyable game. Stanley had their full squad and both sides went for the win without diving into anything too dangerous. Your guys looked the sharper and deserved the win.

Re: Stanley's next manager?

Latest word here is that its all over bar the official announcement, so best of luck with that. It leaves us looking for another new manager but at least our season is nearly over.

And good luck...

Re: Stanley's next manager?

Have to say, if there is a return for JC to Stanley, there will not be many tears shed in Sligo. He had a difficult job taking over after our most successful period ever, but already many want him...

Re: Bristol Rovers match thread

Haven't heard anything about it for some time, although it was agreed at the time of Cook's departure, as far as I know.
I must make some enquiries at the club. Timing might be difficult with the...

Re: Bristol Rovers match thread

Congratulations guys, well done. Looking forward to keeping an eye on your results in League 2 again next season - maybe even another visit. Nothing like a good relegation battle to get the...

Re: Karl Sheppard playing today

He's a good player. Not good enough for the Premier League but he was very good in the League of Ireland.

Re: The King is gone = new management, who?

Reports here in Sligo tonight that Rovers have given Paul Cook permission to talk to Stanley.

Later report says permission not given - but doesn't say he's not speaking to them.

Make of it what...

Re: The King is gone = new management, who?

Cook has always worked within budgets but has challenged the board to increase these budgets. This has been done sufficiently to provide a quality squad, but a very small one as we don't have the...

Re: Padraig Amond

Lads Podge is a bloody brilliant signing, played for my local team Sligo Rovers and he was a sensation. Will do brilliantly for Stanley, very hungry for goals and a lovely fella :)

Re: Boco in Europe

I'm sure Cookie could organize that, that's if he's still here. He's made a good name for himself, the Media like him and there are reports of bigger clubs looking for him. Hopefully he stays.

Re: Boco in Europe

He's played very well, pity his finishing isn't the best but his overall contribution has been great - Benin are going well too so he's had a good year

Rommy and the other ex Stanley lads will (if they stay) be playing in the UEFA (or Europa as it will be) Cup next year after Sligo Rovers finished in 4th place with a 2-0 win tonight - Almeida got...
