  • Hi Polly

It is sorta of a long shot. i'm asian for starters so i dont think i'll be related to any Fosters. my family didnt come to the uk or more specifically to accrington till mid 70's.

as far as i was aware though thalassemia was mostly prevailant in populations with a high rate of malaria eg the hotter regions of the world. the ppl in those regions developed an almost natural immunity from that via thalassemia. maybe there's some greek blood in the family? it was very common in the greek community greek cypriot i think mostly

sorry i couldnt be of more help

    Hello Mani

I hope you do not mind me messaging you but I saw a remark on the bopard by you that your daughter had thalassemia.
I have thalassemia minor which although the weaker version does cause me some problems
I originally joined Accy Web as I was trying to trace my fathers side of the family through whom I got the condition
Are you in any way related to the Fosters? George Foster was my grandfather and lived on Dale St he had four children Harold, Arthur Edith and George (my father) Each of those children had children of their own who I do not know the names of.

It is a wild chance but I had to ask

    Regards
    Polly
