There are seventeen magpies on a tree in the nature reserve outside. I watched Magpie [but prefered Blue Peter,] does the song 'One for sorrow, two for joy...' end @ ten? l'm a bit frightened to go for a paper 'cause they might think l'm Tippy Hedron!
 
Cover your eyes and remember to say "Good Morning My Lords and Ladies" as you pass and they should leave you alone.
 
Lol, l think Tippy in 'The Birds' had a sage green chiffon scarf, should l find something similar to cover my eyes?

It sounds like your in the area my grandparents used to live.I spent many a day on Foxhill Terrace,and across the way as my grandad had one of the pens.:)
 
if theres one on its own i aways salute it & say "good morning captain & hows the lady wife":o for good luck (still waiting for the luck & ive been saying it since i was a kid )mabe one days ,(sighs ).
 
For all you know Mez it could have been Mrs. Magpie you were talking to all these years and she might not take kindly to being addressed as "Captain" :D

There's a Magpie Hopscotch game on the Stone Jetty at Morecambe. Even though we've played it a few times I can't for the life of me remember how many numbers it goes up to but next time I'm there I'll have a good look.
 
Blue Peter was no more patronizing than any other education l got. Though it did go down hill when they started to hire presenters who were former soft porn stars, & people having babies who weren't married, [not Percy Thrower!]

Yes that mucky, Peter Duncan! The magpies are actually in a tree on one of those pens, thet flew accross the lodge, & are now back in the same tree. l think they're waiting for me. l'll not get a paper, but will have to clean the snow off my car before l go to my Mum's for tea.

The worst people for patronising are technical helpdesks. They haven't yet worked out that some people are actually not too bad with a computer, but they still go through things with you on a step by step basis, like click on 'Start' - thats the green button at the bottom left of your screen, etc.

It really winds me up. If they want me to open the control panel, just say so!!!
 
:D I know there are people out there that have problems with that sort of thing, but I think helpdesks should also be able to help the more knowledgable of us.

Although I guess that a lot of the more knowledgable sort their own problems out!

Maybe I'm thicker than I thought!!!
 
And did not that blue peter soft porn star go on to be CHIEF SCOUT. What would Baden Powell say. !!!!!!!!!!!!! I would question the selection panel.
 
Wasn't there also a curly haired blonde chap who got sacked for stripping at the gay night club "Heaven"?
 
Yeah l forgot, it was last year he became 'head' scout, so to speak. Perhaps they'll ask Jordan to lead the guides.
