2019.

Beacon of light
Overlooker
2019 is dribbling away like an incontinent old fellow.

It has been a strange year.
It was tinged with joy and hope.
It was flavoured with disbelief and despair, it was punctuated by trials and troubles.
It held sadness too.

All that went before makes us what we are.
It shapes and forms us.
Sometimes when we look back, just briefly, we can see how far we have come....sometimes we have no real idea of how we got to where we are.
Except like all journeys, you just put one foot
in front of the other...and as Winston Churchill observed 'when you are going through hell...you keep going'

Looking back is fine as long as you don't stare too long into the past.
The past was a lesson, not a life sentence.
So eyes forward now....well done to those of you who have dealt with your own trials and come through them....and for those of you still getting through them...stay strong and know that you are not alone(however lonely you might feel)...and if there are hands outstretched to help you, then take hold.
There are no prizes for being a bloodied martyr.

I am not waiting to see in the New Year...it is not going anywhere....so I will wish all those who read my stuff....the kind of New Year that you would wish for yourself. I hope 2020 is good to you and those who mean the most to you.
