I had a bad work day yesterday and sorry to say, but I took it out on Chris.
I'd proof read and reproof read some leaflets that I was designing for someone else and finally when I was happy I'd had them printed - they arrived back yesterday and there was a really obvious spelling mistake - arrgggh. Oh, well shows I'm not infallible! Rookie mistake really, you should never proof read stuff that you're too close to!
I'd also been at three hour meeting in the morning which was frustrating. Not frustrating that I was in the meeting but the outcome of the meeting was that funding has run out on a project (not one that I'm directly involved in) and it's been disbanded. So frustrating when that happens because Government initiatives keep coming along and replacing things that are already starting to work but of course, are obsolete when the new thing comes along. Why don't they just let us get on with things, allow initiatives to bed in and then they might see progress.
Also, Chris phoned me in the middle of a mini crisis when I was really snowed under asking me if I thought we could get a babysitter to go to a quiz that started at 6.30 (some friends of a friend had dropped out and the friend needed another couple of team members at short notice). I told him I couldn't think about anything else right at that moment because I was on overload. It didn't go down very well. Upshot of it was that we couldn't get a babysitter so couldn't go to the quiz.
Still waiting for my political leaflets. They're being dealt with - I think we've got the text right. Apparently, you're not allowed to say 'vote for me' because as soon as you do that kickstarts the budget for electioneering and you're only allowed to spend so much on a campaign (not sure who's rule that is). I think I'm allowed to say 'make your vote count in May', so we're just getting the exact wording checked out.
Much calmer today - going to Preston to a careers day. No, I'm not looking for a new one (I have far too many at the moment) but to help students who might want to pursue a career in the Arts.
