A full tummy.....

Went for a lovely meal last night at the Shireburn in Hurst Green. It was delicious and I absolutely gorged myself by managing 3 courses. For somebody who normally eats little and often this is quite a feat. I felt like Mr Creosote afterwards and unable to move I took myself off to bed.

It had been a weary day. I went back to work to find that we were heaving yet again. Telephone calls were coming in from the antenatal ward asking when we would be able to take the inductions. I was getting quite annoyed at times, as the staff from the ward kept ringing. In the end I had to ask "which part of we do not have a bed don't you understand?"

By lunchtime we had a couple of beds, so I duly accepted one of the inductions on the condition that a member of ward staff came to look after her for an hour until we could get relief. When the staff member came up with the patient she remarked how busy it was and agreed to stay and look after the lady for a bit. It didn't seem to get any better all day. I was so glad to leave at the end of my shift. I hope today is better. I can feel another holiday coming on.
