A ginger Ninja.

A couple years ago(almost) my much loved Tuxedo cat died....well, she was 21 years old.
I was heartbroken. In fact I cried more about the loss of her than I have over Ma(should I be ashamed of myself for admitting that?)

I said I would have no more kitties....the pain of losing them was just too much.
Yet within a week I had bought two ginger kittens....littermates, a brother and sister.
Prior to getting these two scallywags, I had said that if a ginger cat walked into my life I would take him in.
Himself had been feeding a very large mackerel and white tabby cat in the garage.
This large cat inveigled himself into our lives.
Despite himself saying I had not to invite this cat into the house....pretty soon he was doing just that.
This new cat liked the two kitties, and they liked him.
So he became another pet.
I named him Samson, himself named him Dyson...purely because of the way he could Hoover up food.

Then a ginger and white cat took up residence in the garage.
Himself started feeding him.
He was a sorry sight. Matted coat, skinny as a rake and full of fleas.
He was a very 'spitty' cat....and hissed and swore if you went near him.
I wanted to treat him for his fleas, check him over.
So I started 'cat whispering'....telling him he was a beautiful boy.
Within a couple of weeks I was combing his coat....had treated his fleas and an eye infection.
He looked like a different boy.
He would come to me, but was still hostile towards himself.
Pretty soon he was sat at the backdoor.
The next step....well it was inevitable that he would be in the house.

The only fly in the ointment is that he and Samson do not really get on....though it is Samson who is the aggressor.

Slowly, slowly we are making progress.
Last night Samson was on the rug while Ninja was sat on the feeding station.
They are not exactly friends, but it seems that a truce has been declared.....but I would not like to leave the in the same room unsupervised.

Ninja still has his fuzzy nudgers too...he is a whole male....and there is a possibility that he might just spray(though up to yet he hasn't).
I am kind of hoping that in the not too distant future, himself might just suggest we take him along to Vets4Pets to have those bits of him removed.

So fate did present me with a ginger cat.....and I did take him in.
Watch this space.
I have put some pictures of the newly refurbished boy...just so you can see what a handsome lad he is.

Yes son, I know.:)
I am in danger of becoming the mad cat lady of Clayton.
But....I can live with that.
I have nothing to prove anymore....and sometimes the cats are preferable to some people.

Hey dont be ashamed fer crying more fer the cat, i did the same,so did ange, when our Oscar died, i never cried when me younger brother died, n i thought the absolute world of him, its a different thing with animals, cos living with yeh they become a massive part of yer life. thats my excuse an i'm sticking to it.
