A muted Celebration.

We are in that hiatus between Christmas and the New year.....a sort of nowhere land. New year.......I don't make much of a fuss about the celebration.....to me it is just another day. And I NEVER EVER stay up to see the New Year in......after all it isn't really going anywhere is it?

My parents used to make such a fuss over who had 'first footed' them and if the New Year turned out to be a bad one, the first footer got the blame and they were not asked to do it again.

So far the celebrations have been very muted.....I have only had two glasses of wine over the whole of Christmas.....and those were with my Christmas Dinner......this despite the fact that I have been presented a litre bottle of Baileys.....a bottle of Dessert Wine.....a bottle of Chambord.....and a bottle of Cointreau......do my family think I am about to become an afficionado of alcohol? I am daft enough off a cup of tea.
