Once again the Telegraph has said that I'm standing for council as a representative of MPA. Absolute rubbish, of course, but very little I can do about it. I've written a letter to try and address the balance but I doubt they'll print it. Hopefully, the work I'm doing door to door will outweigh all the tosh that's been printed.
Had a good morning delivering leaflets - it's very nice when I've posted a letter through someones door if they bang on the window and give me a thumbs up. I dropped one leaflet through a door and the woman came out and handed me back my leaflet. I was a bit concerned for a second then she told me that she'd already sent her postal vote in. She made me laugh because she said that her late husband always voted Conservative but she always voted Labour so they cancelled each other out, then she said that her vote counted now since he'd gone. It was just the matter of fact way that she said it that amused me.
I'm getting a really good response but I know people can say one thing and do another but I know for a fact that PB is not getting as good a response as I am. I heard that he's getting some stick in his local pub which isn't really very nice and I certainly don't condone that sort of behaviour.
Chris and my other guests got their invites today. I was allowed to nominate five people as guests to come and see the count, as it happens I got an extra ticket for a sixth person (one candidate must have only wanted to invite four people) so I'll have a really strong support team with me on the night. Should be an interesting night. As I've never been at a count before I don't really know what to expect. I'll post on here afterwards the process to let everyone else know how it works.
I'm tired now and want it all to be over. Just a few more days to go though.
