Today I signed off on the accounts for the estate.
This finalises and concludes the affairs of my dear Ma.
It is just one week short of the first anniversary of her death.
I cannot believe that it has taken so long and been so costly to tie up what was, a modest estate.
Over the last couple of weeks memories of Ma have been uppermost in my mind.
I have thought about her constantly....especially this time a year ago....when she was out of her home to get the dry rot dealt with.
I have asked myself if I had not taken her out of her home, would she still be here.
I think the answer to that is she would not.
And she (despite being not well).really enjoyed being in that house....she thought it was a little palace(just the right place for the queen of my life).
I suppose it is inevitable really, that she would be in my thoughts....with the first anniversary of her death approaching.
I am not sad....I miss her more than I can say.
I miss her cheeriness, I miss her cheeky grin, I miss her sometime lavatorial humour.
I miss looking after her, the cooking, the shopping.
But now her affairs are concluded I can start to rebuild my new 'normal'
About time too
