Adapting.

Well, after a great Sunday morning things went rapidly down hill.

I took Phoebe's freind to Mum's for tea and l sat there like a zombie. lt was like l wasn't there. l can only describe it as if you're really drunk, not happy drunk just comatose, aware of what is going on around you but not really there.

Resulted in another totally sleepless night. Thanks to Tinks, Simon, and Uncle Less for chatting to me and helping me make it through the night. Appologies to said three if they also think l'm a prat. :)

Still, not sleeping on Sunday night meant l had a good six hours last night, which is great because it's the last day of my course today and l feel raring to go. We have to give a presentation about our represented groups. My other Parkinson's buddy is on holiday so l may have to pair up with Simon the builder, oh dear! :)

I called this entry 'adaptation' because l've just woken from a dream about ironing!

l'm not a great fan of ironing. When l was working l could get a shirt down to 5 mins. ironed beautifully. This may seem a long time but l assure you for Egyptian cotton poplin without a sniff of man-made fibre, that is good going. lf l was trying to sell bespoke shirts at a starting price of £180, at least l should have matching collar and cuffs beautifully pressed, so to speak.

Ironing is the thing l struggle doing the most with now. Ironically when l get worse l'll qualify for a carer's allowance, so l could pay someone to do it for me. l think l'll hold on that one thanks.

Most other things l've adapted to. Electric toothbrush, electric razor, electric tin openers and knives. ln fact thank goodness for electricity! The only thing l really struggle with is cleaning my ears. lf you talk to my right side and l don't answer, you'll know my shaky right hand has perforated my ear drum!

My left hand has also adapted amazingly well without me realising. l can't write with it though sadly. Looking back my smoking hand changed about three years ago, after l kept burning things with my more natural right hand- ah, the clues were there already about what was coming.

l'm tempted to write something rude as well but l'd better not, some of you may guess!

Any hows, Mtheads booked for 11.30 am, a free lunch awaits, bring it on. Tonight l'm also meeting Lindsay to go to Stanley.

Release those balls, l'm feeling lucky!
