An Imbuggerance.

Someone once asked me what an imbuggerance was.....I told them it is something that is of little importance, but causes great irritation......It won't kill you, but it makes you mad, bad tempered and at odds with the world.
We all know that when we are having a bad day, the dog gets short shrift(or the substitute for the dog...which maybe the other half, or the tinlids)......it is basic human nature to pass the pain down the chain.

Today I have had my own little imbuggerance.
My computer, and my internet access is vital to my mental health......my husband says I am addicted, but I assure him that I am not.
I qualify this by telling him that I never go to internet cafe's when I am away with Ma.......to which he retorts

'No, you wait until you come back, dump the case and rush upstairs and I don't see you for hours'

'Be grateful for small mercies' is my well used reply.

I like to have my'fix' if that is what you want to call it.
Today......this morning, before I had had breakfast, or opened my eyes properly I fired up the machine........checked the e-mails quickly, before going down for my cuppa and slice of toast.(maybe I am addicted after all)

Everything seemed to be in order..... surprise, because I got a windows update yesterday, these always seem to cock up some program or other.

Anyway, I went over and picked the tinlids up to take them to school.........Spindles ran upstairs to check on my progress with 'Angry Bird's'.........and I couldn't load my homepage.......strange...... it worked earlier.
My homepage is BT/Yahoo....don't scoff, I like it.
I can find everything, all my bookmarks are displayed and it is as comfy as a pair of old slipper(or holey jocks...to some people).

Hmmmm.........I ran a virus scan...nothing came up.
Botherations, the little clock on the screen told me that I needed to stir my stumps it was time to get the tinlids to school.......in the meantime, I thought I would set the machine for a system restore....so that is what I did.
Dropped the children off at school, then went into town to get some shopping for us and for Ma.
When I came back I felt sure the problem would be solved..........wrong.

I still had the little dialogue box with the yellow exclamation mark, telling me that there was a script error, which would make my browser run slow, and may cause my browser to become unresponsive.......well that was right on the money....my browser was comatose.

I really didn't know what to do to cure the problem.....but sense prevailed...eventually, I decided to check the Bt Status page.

There it was....... a notification to tell us that there was a script problem on the BT/Yahoo homepage, that engineers were doing their best to fix it.....apologising for any inconvenience. Praise Be! Hallelujah!

So it wasn't anything I had done, or for that matter, hadn't done.......it was just one of those things.........an imbuggerance!
