One of the problems is the choice of user name when registering with an ISP or web mail. Most people will choose a real word as the user name. It’s only natural.does anyone know how to stop naughty emails?

That’s because both email addresses are know by the spammers and will be on one of the many CD’s that are for sale. The last offer by spam email that I got was for a CD with a claimed ONE MILLION active email addresses and the soft ware to organise spamming for $10.I have a random letters and numbers email address and one which is the same as my user name here and I still get the same amount of junk on both! It gets dumped straight to spam or trashcan though so I never have to see it unless I go looking.
Same thing has happened to me with Accy Web Emails, and don't know why, emails from other web sites go to my inbox as they have always done, I used to get a lot of spam but I just put a block on recieving them from that site, so if I get junk I don't want I just block themno idea whats happening with mine , at one time notifications for "accy web" postings came to my regular inbox and I got a pop-up notification , now replies go to my bulk mail box with no notification ,
There also seems to be a tie-in between my 'accy-web" usage and recieving junk mail/spam for wristwatchs, handbags and sexual health aids , they only come/arrive when I am using 'accy-web"![]()

It should have been 36^10 that is 365,615,844,000,000,000,000,000.Sooner or later the spammers will work out a way to send a spam email to everyone regardless of their user name but in order to find your 10 random character username they would have to try 10 to the power of 36 combinations, that is 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000.
Hands up all those who spotted my deliberate mistake in my post (#10).
