Another good walk

This time it was Collette's patch and again about 15-20 people turned up to help, including Greg Pope. He's really dedicated to all this and although he lives in London during the week he comes up and gives up part of his weekend for leafleting.

The top of Ossy is actually quite hilly, well, it's one big hill. We set off in small teams again and I ended up doing Edinburgh Drive and Laburnum Drive but me and my partner ran out of leaflets. As he didn't have a clue where he was I set off to find one of the other teams. I ended up running up Hawthorne Ave and across Queens Drive to find someone. By the time I found someone and got back to my partner he was beginning to get worried that I wasn't coming back for him. Good exercise for me though.

Spoke to David Myles, Leader of the Labour party in Hyndburn, and he's offered to be my agent. Apparently, every candidate needs one and as I'm a newbie at this I need someone who is really experienced. When the election is declared about three weeks before the election date David will help me fill in all the forms and sort things out. From what I understand he'll be by my side whilst they are counting the votes and he'll be the one who has to demand a recount should it be close. It's good to know that someone that high up in the party is prepared to stand beside me as my agent, it's really pleased me.

I suspect that he'd have supported whoever was standing in this ward though because it gives a very clear signal to the opposition that it's strong support.
