No....I am not going on a journey.I mean are we at Christmas yet?
And before you tell me...I DO know the answer.
It is,not quite.
I don't know if I told you, but I made a whole load of Christmas cards...just short of 200.
About 180 went to school(St Christopher's).
I was asking for donations of a quid for each one.
(This is very cheap for hand made cards)
The money was going towards Spindles costs to get to Borneo on a volunteering expedition.
This is being done through school, so,I felt that they would be keen to help out....that, and the fact that I make beautiful cards(perhaps I should not say that because it sounds conceited....but I do make very pretty original cards...no two are the same).
Today School broke up so I needed to go and collect the remainders and also the cash to put into the travel account.
I have to say that I am very disappointed with the sales.....I think I sold something like 25 cards.
I think I could have done better going door to door in the local streets selling them....in fact before I sent them off to school I had already made £45....and the other day a neighbour knocked and asked me if I would make personalised cards for his daughters and one for his grandson.
I made these, composed special verses in them and was given £20...I was only going to take half of this but because the neighbour knows I am fund raising, he insisted I take the full amount.
So today I have a large box of lovely cards, unsold.
Ah, well....no point in fretting about it.
I reckon Christmas will be back again(yes, I know this one isn't here yet) in roughly half an hour.
And on that note.
I would like to wish everyone who reads my ramblings, a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy New Year.
Everything you would wish yourselves.
